I have no problem with academies if the clubs pay fair value. Not patched together later picks to make up value. That said they should only be for states that are non traditional markets and not for ever.

The only way it can be fair value is if you trade for the required pick.

Every proposed solution to the father-son rule and the academies that maintains exclusive access might make the rules fairer but they cannot make them fair.

First draft power rankings. Starts the year with 3 in the top 10 linked to northern academies including a potential pick 1.

Another 3 at the swans thereabouts and the pies have a father son who could come on strongly.

Lots of talls and rucks overall in this draft class.

I think we will be selecting in the top 10 again this year - having looked at our fixture again I think we will be lucky to win 6 games this season. Time will tell but lets see if the club are going to have down year whether they can actually place themselves in the sweet spot of the draft.

That has been my thought for the past six months or so. He will likely be told by his manager to sign a short-term deal and get his massive payday when he hits free agency.

I forgot where I heard it, but it seems like the young players at the club have made a pact to stay together over the next three years or something to build the club towards something that can contend for a flag.

However, a seriously poor season where we win 4-5 games and monster contracts from Port and the Crows might just make NAS think twice about the club's direction. Hopefully, the youth are committed to the cause.

If he's home sick, biting off smaller chunks of time might be an advantage to us.

The double dipping was just a scam. Getting a small discount for a player that you genuinely took out of an alternative path way and invested time into is not a massive problem to me. Getting to trade your high picks away and still being able to buy up a high picked player for pocket change is.

Leek Aleer, debuted in 2022, played four games that year, none in 2023, and eight in 2024 for a total so far of 12. Unless the Giants get some injuries to key defenders, it does seem unlikely he'll play many games this year. When asked about his future last year (he's ooc this year), is on record saying he just wants to play as many games as possible and will then make a decision. SA teams will come hard for him but we have the big bucks and a spot ready and waiting for him in the backline. He and the Viking can mark everything for the next ten years.

Ebony and ivory
Play together in perfect harmony
Side by side in St Kilda's backline
Oh lord, why can't we? 🥴

The way your going on you remind me of someone who used to be on here until he was banned ,
Not me… keep looking at shadows 🙄
Too bad Hall was better than Murphy and we have Travagalia still to come. Great recruiting

Hall is nowhere better than Murphy. Let's see how Murphy is at 22. We can then compare Murphy’s output at 22 vs Hall’s at 22.

It wasn't Hall or Reid as scenarios. St Kilda could have had Hall AND Reid. So far, including St Kilda training reports, TT is nowhere close to Reid (based on Freo’s training reports) or Wilson.

Well you are shitcanning Travaglia because Murphy played one game. Hall played one game and was better than Murphy in general play and kicked a couple of goals.

You want to wait to see how good Murphy gets (very good in my opinion) but wont afford Travaglia the same opportunity.

I go to training and Travaglia is going fine. We have Hall whom by your rules (one game) is better than Reid AND we have Travaglia. Fantastic recruiting according to your rules

Flamingo's will be flamingo's. Another burner soon to be banned.

Hall is not a mid
Reid is a mid
Hard for Reid to play mid with freos midfield.
Reid would be playing round 1 in our midfield.
I dont think people are shitcanning travalgia.
After 15 years of poor drafting you can't blame a saints fan for being sceptical of our draft picks and strategy although I do agree it has improved.
Hoping Travaglia and Tauru justifies our descisions and repays the faith shown by the club.

Hall is a mid. Hilarious to argue otherwise.

Let's hope he has the potential to make it to an A grade mid and achieves it.
We fix the midfield and we are half way to fixing our forward line with quality ball movement, decision making, IQ and skill execution.
Most teams have atleast 3 A grade mids including 1 elite mid
We have 1 A grader a 31 yr old Macrae
Potential Pou.
Steele looks so far off it he looks like he is carrying an injury.
