Have to wonder if Clarkos feelings about Wil Phil played a role in the sub.
Seems illogical otherwise

Shiels too Daicos after that smelt a little of Clarko not trusting Wil and going to one of his boys
I have heard this a couple of times and not sure were it is really coming from. Can someone on here confirm that Clarko doesn't like or rate hm cause i thought the exact opposite was true.

Seemed to me he was trying replicate the Sheils to Yeo move in the last quarter last week but there was no need for it when Will was already doing an excellent job.

He's not a tagger. Daicos had 4 shots at goal and 29. A tagger shuts a player out for the game, follow him forward or back. Will's not capable of that.

He did the job until he ran out of gas and that's the only reason he was subbed.

I've been no fan but yeah he was pretty bloody good for a majority of his game.

Probably saved his career today, well with us I do mean.

Good job " pumpers" 😊

I think Will might take his subbing as a lack of faith from the coach, it certainly could be seen as that. Shiels obviously wasn't the right move. I hope it doesn't further erode Will's self confidence.

Its happened to Will 10x times, I think his confidence is already shattered

He was Absolutely gutted to be subbed off for a skinny rake that shouldn't even be playing afl tbh. Will has actually gone back to the VFL and earned his stripes

I tend to think Will should take it on the chin What he should be taking on board is that Clarko had the confidence to put him on Daicos in the 1st place.

Look at the positives here:

  1. He gets a game next week on Clarry or Viney if the reinventing of him as a tagger is to continue.
  2. His trade value at end of season goes up, if he decides to request a trade. Win for us, Win for Phil.
  3. He would have taken some enormous confidence he does below at this level.
  4. His team mates would have taken confidence in his performance.
  5. Clarko and his coaching staff will surely never make a dumb decision like this ever again. With a break at 3 QTR time, surely he could have given one last burst of 5 mins to further curb Daicos.

I reckon he requests to stay because he knows as a team we’re right in contention

Actually they probably won due to some poor umpiring amd us being gassed . Which we were gassed.
When do you reckon NM players will stop running out of legs? 2035? It's been happening for a decade and yet we refuse to address it.
Youth is not an excuse. Although the club would disagree. Sheezel & Wardlaw - GUN players - still unable to run out a game of AFL football. At what stage will that change? If ever.

Sheez is genuinely elite when it comes to running capacity. Wardlaw being an explosive athlete is still a bit away from maturity when it comes to his conditioning.

Fair question and yes you'd think some of them would learn. I can't answer your question but I hope the players do. And your answer is found in season 2025

Get ready for meltdown mode on here if he's not picked next week! Jy should be back and Melbourne don't have a midfielder worthy of a tag. Oliver's not the threat he once was and I reckon Clarko will back our midfield to beat them head to head.

Absolute rubbish re Sheezel. His running capacity is the one thing holding him back from being an A Grade midfielder.
His running capacity is that far from "elite" its not funny.
