Maybe because it’s the first time it’s happened?
Tuohy had been omitted before, it’s just that they labelled it ‘managed’ and saw no benefit in him running out for the Bankers. Has been one of the last picked all season I’d imagine, not that there’s any shame in that.

Why would you trade out someone SDKs age because he got injured and is now being kept out of the side by 2 guys right at the end of their careers.

You just tell him he was unlucky this year but that position is his for a long time, he just has to take it
there is a possible game for us next week, not a complete write-off..

Hmm proof he has been omitted and not managed?
And of course he has been one of the last picked as he is on his last legs hence retiring.

Others who were omitted this year have all played VFL why is Touhy so special?

Is SDK even an emergency? Wow.

Obviously his days as a defender are over and he will be a ruck from now on. (or traded)

Interesting the shorter quicker back line given the opposition forward line. I hope the ball flies in under pressure and their talls don't get too many good looks.

That may be a slight overreaction to things

It's unfortunate timing with Sam's injury, but I doubt we were ever going to go with 4 KPD options in adding him to the trio of Blicavs, Henry & Kolodjashnij

The most susceptible of the trio would likely have been Blicavs, except that he's found form in his return to defence and playing his best football all season - could maybe shift him back to the midfield but not sure what role he'd play there

I think this comment from Henry also gives support to Blicavs staying in defence

“He’s another big body down there helping ‘Kola’ (Jake Kolodjashnij) and I, which is good,” Henry said.

“We all know how he can run and help out in that sense. And he’s doing his stuff in the ruck.

“Yeah, you can put him anywhere, Blitz. He’s a gun.”

The other position we've seen SDK play this year is in the ruck, but Stanley has barely put a foot wrong since his late season return - add in that he's clunking marks around the ground, he's hitting the scoreboard for the first time in years and he's bringing an m aggression to the role, he would have been extremely stiff to be omitted - especially having watched Sam's efforts against Southport where he seemed to be going through the motions at times rather then pushing his case for selection

The unfortunate thing about this time of year is that there's always going to be hard luck stories, and right now that would look to be Sam & Zach. We know that Zach is retiring come seasons end, but if this is enough for Sam to decide that he wants to be traded, then that says a bit about him

Besides all that, the final team hasn't been named yet - so maybe those guys will get their chance

They didn't play a Holmes who was declared 100% fit they're not playing an SDK off no senior games post surgery
SDK is fit to play injury-wise, but lacks quality match play.
Holmes 22 was NOT fit to play.

The interesting selection was earlier this year - managed for round 9, then named an emergency for round 10 until a tight hamstring saw SDK a late out with Tuohy coming in

Degenerative knee bone on bone I understand and that goes back a couple of years you are not managing that playing him in the VFL.Just takes a little time to settle down.
