I'd say the same thing. But it made me worried the tone and how he said it.....

well...you never know with Clarkson..he's a strange beast!...what we think is right way to go about things..for him it maybe is not...
for those that are Stranger Things fans >> Clarkson lives in the upside down world...how else do you explain 3 flags in a row..

I dont think its that obvious we will lose contested ball, i can see a hunger for the contest coming to the fore like we havent seen all year, someone mentioned the 1st qtr against the roos, would not be surprised if we bring that manic offensive attack around the ball all game. This could be 1 last tilt at a flag for alot of the senior boys so i can see them leaving nothing out on the ground, if we get a collective effort from other crucial components such as bruest, gunston, poppy, hill, smith and hartung than geelong will find it tough to win imo.

Have read articles from Hodgey and now Gibbo in the last couple of days where they mention 'the hunt'. They're really embracing our mantra for this finals series and to be honest hearing a bloke like Hodge talk about steeling himself for the hunt gets the fire in the belly burning. Friday can't come quick enough

That's the plan! Is there also a tram that goes straight up flinders st to the G still?
Sorry mate - I meant Spencer street!

I think tram 48 will stop at MCG from Collins St.

But better train than tram for friday night, more services. Go to platform 9-13. Don't bother to check the information board, just ask Metro staff :), they are friendly and really helpful.

Good luck with the trip :thumbsu:.

it's not going to suit three talls compared to three smalls ?
Geelong are clearly the tallest side include Stanley Smith Kolo.

Hawkins is rendered useless when the ball hits the deck on a dry ground I'm not expecting things to change on a wet track.
Don't come on the Hawks board and act dumb - hopefully it's acting.

Not sure if the potential for heavy rain hurts or helps us.

On the plus side it basically takes Porkins out of the equation and it probably limits Menzel as he appears to be a lead and mark/pack mark forward from what I've seen. They definitely shpukdht be able to beat us by kicking it on the talk forwards' heads.

It also makes it harder for their backmen to take lots of marks and means our better foot skills will probably come to the for.

With the ball hitting the ground more it gives our small forwards more opportunities and exposes their small defenders (their biggest weakness).

On the other hand, they are a better contested ball winning side and wet weather footy is all about getting the ball moving forward in any way possible. This coupled with our poor tackling could really hurt if we are getting smashed at clearances. Hill, Hartung, Smith and Lewis' tackling could be an issue in particular.

It takes our short passing/measured build up style out of the equation and our tendency to over handball could be exposed. Although this might not be bad if we can play in a more adhoc fashion and create some uncertainty.

Our tap-ons will be much harder to execute as well.

Overall, it probably advantages us slightly provided we do okay in the clearances and stick our tackles.

Menzel will play well in the wet. He will still take marks and I'm expecting it to be pretty good by kick off. My preference would be for it to piss down all game as we never lose in the wet.
Hawkins also plays better in the wet. He has kicked his biggest Haul in the slop in Brisbane. Everyone slows down to his pace when it's wet

yeah, am really relishing all the anti-hawk sookiness on here. too funny. our lucky, no-talent era has caused quite a few long-term scars :D

don't think we're gonna win friday but **** me, if we do there's gonna be a cry of DDOS proportions.

Agree. I think we might be in trouble.

However, would love to win by 30-40 points. The wtf form the opposition supporters would be gold until the prelim. :)

Out: Hartung, Pittonet, Sicily

In: Langford, McEvoy, Stratton

Being wet, i thing Langers is better suited then Hartung , who has not yet shown enough
when the heat is really on.
Sicily slightly stiff as well, but once the ball hits the ground seems to struggle.

Note: Alex Woodward was the Box Hill Hawks 2nd best player in 3 of his 4 games after he came back from his ACL. He has laid 28 tackles and averaged near 25 possessions. He is primed.
Woodward after 3 knee reco's is still by far the best player in the VFL. He is AFL ready and needs the exposure next year to develop his game to the next level, otherwise he should just leave.

Wouldn't surprise me if we line up like this. Sicily doesn't seem to be able to lock the footy inside 50 nor influence games when conditions are poor and I don't think we can roll with both Hill and Hartung in the slop.

Sicily will not be dropped... Gee

You create you're own luck. I hope Hodge knocks out Selwood.
Then get off any review because of the Hawks good bloke clause that would sure cause more headf**k comments.

Now just hold your fire and enthusiasm two more nights then let rip at them' I sense you are getting toey
