Stoinis had a licence to hit out rather than rotating strike to Maxwell.
The comparison between the two are worlds apart.
Im not sure if its me but does it seem to me that Stoinis has lost his timing with the bat in the last 6 months or so?

TBF we did have a long tail today so it was feeling a bit iffy, could've been bad if we lost a couple more quickly, lucky we settled after the 3

I agree that i doubt we ever see him play for Australia in test cricket again but i will never stop praying for it.
I am not sure if he ever would have been a success at that level but CA certainly mismanaged (seemingly intentionally at a point).
I think he certainly had something to offer at times in certain situations.

He has definitely been shoehorned into shorter form cricket by the selectors, so I can at least be happy to see him play well there, but I will always wonder what could have happened if they had just given him a solid run of test matches.

If they used their brains CA and wasnt injured, they should’ve opened with him. Beyond me how the best t20 opener of the last 2 seasons can’t make the team in his position but we get left with a washed up hack and a charity inclusion
