No they didn’t. Smith didnt show a hot spot at all but snicko did.

Stop your trolling crap.

Thanks troll

That looks like a little tickle on hotspot

Those stump mics must be good - sounded so clearly out during the live ball, then its the slightest of sounds on snicko and tiny hotspot.

there was, very small spot but it was there

There was a white speck on hotspot

Pakistan will get rolled twice on this pitch. Starc will get 10 is my prediction.

Someone will get a bag I’ll go Cummins who bowls well when there’s any up and down in any pitch

New ball can be easier to score
Also easier to get out to!

In an ideal world we dont want the tail against the brand new second ball. These 2 take 30 overs off the new ball would set us up for a score of 400+.

Well the tail starts next the way Carey is batting

Marsh is great to watch these days
He has improved out of sight and can score fast when needed with a massive hitting range and power. 👌

Bucknor giving Symonds not out after he smashed the cover off it in Sydney is one of the worst I can remember.

Was he struggling and likely to be dropped if I remember correctly?

The Langer one against Pakistan that cost them the Hobart test was pretty bad as well.

From a spectator POV, if those decisions stand it’s then a discussion point for the remainder of the test.

If Pakistan win a tight one then as we have seen in the past it will always be a part of the conversation as to whether it was “fair”.

Surely it’s better for the spectacle to get the right call.

But the LBW's are dependent on the original decision, they are not objective.

I am raging against the tide here but I hate the constant delays and reviewing of everything. Ruins the theatre of the umpire giving it out. And then the review for the sake of a review because we have some left.....

Should we look at having Head at 4 and Smith at 5 in the future?

Marnus has seemed a lot more relaxed and with much better intent batting with Head and Marsh than yesterday. Perhaps having a more aggressive batting partner suits his style more?

I do agree with this. I would like to see it taken out of the players hands. Have it so the third umpire looks at it as the bowler gets back to his mark, if it looks tight then pause play and have a look.

Smith will come good, he is at the age now reflexes go and batsmen start to struggle so he won't return to what he was but I still think he'll be our best player for the next few years.

Maybe but I reckon Head is more valuable where he is at 5. At the moment he's our most influential batter - I wouldn't move him to make Marnus feel better.

I am starting to worry about smudge

Every innings lately always a lbw or a very close one with drs as he walks across the stumps

Worth looking into. The Smith/Marnus partnership worked wonders for us from 2020-2022 but it does seem like Marnus enjoys batting with Trav and Mitch more now.

imo he was always going to be at risk of a mid 30's to late 30's form slump, historically batsmen go to shit around 35, a player like Smith especially when he walks across his stumps and wips of his pads and never misses, eventually he was bound to start missing.
