It remains harder to get out of this team than into it.
Really ???? its a pink ball test you would think you only go with 4 specialists for this test due to the conditions.Heard on the radio he's going to bowl at training tomorrow. You really need a 5th bowler at Adelaide, especially if we lose the toss

The 5th bowler would be needed more on the flatter decks of the MCG and SCG IMO
The toss though will be crucial

Bland selections again with no eye for the future. Bolands Boxing Day spell will live on forever but he’s just not the guy. Abbott and Doggett also in the squad is f*cking hilarious as well when we have younger blokes with more to offer.
Batting order is a slight issue given there’s basically no replacements putting their hand up but why not change it up and give Inglis a go as a batsman? Actually try to create some sort of accountability.
The selection panel isn’t far enough removed from the players to have an objective view.
The MCG hasnt exactly been flat recently. I’d agree you need a 5th bowler more in the regular tests than the day/nightReally ???? its a pink ball test you would think you only go with 4 specialists for this test due to the conditions.

That saying really is true, mainly for batsmen though. Bowlers like Bichel, Kasprowicz, Boland etc etc were/are the injury replacements and there's usually a few for the quicks.
The problem is with cricket that it can be too stats driven. It's hard to drop guys like Smith and Marnus because of their averages, on form Marnus should be out but he averages nearly 50 at Test level still, they'll probably be thinking it's hard to drop him for someone who doesn't average over 40 in FC cricket.
How are we going to take 20 wickets, pink ball and all?
a nearly 34 year old quick in hazlewood breaks down after one game
australian selectors - "lets pick the 35 year old bloke whos played one shield game and went wicketless against the same mob last week"
makes sense

Again who would you pick there aren’t many younger options that are fit. Let’s not pretend Doggett or Abbott are long term options
Paris has been unlucky, sure, but you can’t really argue he’s the future at this stage. Hopefully Richardson, Bartlett and Morris can stay fit in the near future.Joel Paris. 31 isnt too old. Career ave 19.47, this season averaging 12.8 in the shield, left armer who swings it both ways and just took 5 fa with the pink ball in a day night shield game at the same venue last week.

Picking Big Sexy for one or 2 tests against India isn’t the problem.
We aren’t playing two left armers for starters and he can barely stay fit himself. We have Starc to do what Paris does but better
if we were 3-0 up or 3-0 down i would probably agree with you, pick someone who may be the future. but were 1-0 down after being embarrassed in perth. in this situation you dont pick for the future you pick to win and should pick people in form.
whats the difference between playing two left armers and playing two right armers? and we shouldnt pick someone who's currently fit because they havent been fit in the past? using that logic cummins never would have played for australia again after 2011
Variety in your attack is the key, two guys doing the same isn’t variety. It’s why this current attack is so good, you have Starc the lefty then Cummins seams it a bit each way, Haze has the height and swings it a fraction early. If Starc was out, he’d be a chance. No chance replacing Hazelwood
If Boland is 35 Paris is in the mix...Paris has been unlucky, sure, but you can’t really argue he’s the future at this stage. Hopefully Richardson, Bartlett and Morris can stay fit in the near future.

Luke it doesn't matter if they bowl left or right.... just pick the best....if they are two right or two left who caresVariety in your attack is the key, two guys doing the same isn’t variety. If paris was called into the team he would go okay ....he is a very good bowler ..rate him more than Abott or DoggettWe have lost easily our best bowler so you'd want someone you know can do a job (Boland). I wouldn't want an inexperienced bowler coming in being carried by 2 blokes averaging 28 and 31 (last 2 years) and an unfit Marsh.
