Things I’m looking forward to:

- the pitch being a bit two/five/79-paced

- the bounce maybe being a bit tennis-bally (just waiting for a pitch where the bounce is a bit Jai Alai-bally)

- ‘that’s the length.’ F**k off idiot.

- ‘visiting teams tend to be a bit short.’ We know. We’ve been hearing it since TV existed.

- Five thousand mentions of Howie’s injury as someone in this or another thread mentioned

- The ‘blend of the old and the new at Adelaide.’

Good times
And churches

The same Joel Paris who isn't in this Shield game due to injury?

as of this article posted 20 hours ago he was named in the WA squad for this shield game.

how was i supposed to know between then and now he was going to miss through injury?

A fair point. But, he never gets considered for test squads because he is always injured. 43 first class games at the age of 31 tells a story.

"Joel Paris was also left out of the XI for the round six clash, while left-arm wrist-spinner Hamish McKenzie has been named for his second Shield match, having also played against NSW at the SCG last season."

no idea why he was left out but i cant find any mention of injury. have you read somewhere that he's injured? cant find anything on cricinfo either

Look it is a beautiful ground but as a Fast Bowler I would be trying to ping a hammy so I don't have to be a bowling machine for the batsman for 5 days.
And yet only 2 of the pink ball tests in Adelaide have gone to day 5.

About to knock off and head down now.
Nice corporate facility but unfortunately I’m only going to the first 2 days as off to Doha on Sunday

It will be either a niggling injury or work load management to prevent an injury. The bloke is made of glass.

bit premature to assume he has an injury when we have no idea why he isnt playing. why name him and fly him to NSW if he never going to play due to workload management, and if he had a niggling injury he never would have been taken at all.

bloke could have explosive diarrhoea, we have no idea at this point

It sucks that the Vics are tucked away largely unloved these days.
Currently the Vics are on fire because they have nearly full strength side playing.BUT Fergus O'Neill 3 wickets in 1 over,2 bowled.Surely the Aust selectors will have to have a good look at this guy in the future.

The scoreboard

Predicting a shit tonne of runs scored this test. Head to get a home century. India to bat for days- prove me wrong Australian bowlers.

You're answering your own question. You're not going to turf out guys who been good servants for guys not up to it.
And that being the case doesn't equate to a lack of planning, it could just be a lean period for talent.
Some of them might be though? And we’ll end up in a far worse position if we wait for the next Ponting to show up.

We don’t have to overhaul the entire team at once but changing it up down the order can’t hurt. Smith is basically playing at 3 now days anyway so bump everyone up and try someone new at 6. Same with the bowlers. We’re only missing one, give a young guy a go.

Smith, Marnus and Warner, even Cummins, all made the side because everyone saw their potential but none of them really had any first class runs on the board at the time.

If we’re having to wait till we’re on the bones of our ass and hope like hell a generational batsman turns up to carry us (Clarke, Smith), then we’re doing it wrong.

Yes the pink ball tests have masked how good it is to bat on.
Declarations before that gave results also.
Enjoy your day mate.
