Looking forward to watching Bumrah at his task again. Reckon he'll BBQ us again.

Australia have done nothing to address the batting woes so it's fingers crossed for jagging the best of the conditions and hoping one of our bats gets some early career Labuschagne luck!
Have to agree. My focus for this series has shifted from being an Australia fan to being a cricket fan and appreciating Bumrah at his prime, possibly even completing his magnum opus

Ive heard in the past few weeks an argument that you dont debut players against gun teams/bowlers. Question is, when do you play newbies? Players do not like giving up their spot as it gives those outside the inner test team sanctum a chance to take over. And as much people talk about "team" and "connection" and "brotherhood", it's still in part an individual game.

Nothing specifically wrong, but no real reason to do it. Marsh was almost a certainty to play, as was Boland.
Don't know why but for some reason i thought the test started Sunday, so my issue was that we announced the team four days before, not a night before! So yes, 24 hours makes no difference whatsoever, lol

I have no issue blooding players against good opponents in the right circumstances. A 25 year old with 2+ years of elite first class cricket I am all for it.

A 19 year old with a handful of first games where he missed out on half of them I am a lot less keen on the idea.

The problem with us is we keep aging players around for series like last summer, which would have been the time to try and blood one. Warner hanging around for his farewell tour was a joke.

Things I’m looking forward to:

- the pitch being a bit two/five/79-paced

- the bounce maybe being a bit tennis-bally (just waiting for a pitch where the bounce is a bit Jai Alai-bally)

- ‘that’s the length.’ F**k off idiot.

- ‘visiting teams tend to be a bit short.’ We know. We’ve been hearing it since TV existed.

- Five thousand mentions of Howie’s injury as someone in this or another thread mentioned

- The ‘blend of the old and the new at Adelaide.’

Good times

God I hope the cricket has even half the intensity of the discussion about who should and shouldn’t be in the team.

That’s seriously what most of cricket seems to be these days.

Correct, the aussies made the forced change they had to. Would not of even considered dropping Marnus. They have always backed their players in. Always been harder to get out of the aussie side than to get in to it.

The pitch will be a belter to bat on as it always is. It will just come down to will the pink ball do anything at night.

Ha ha, well fair enough. Happy test match morning to you.

Joel Paris. 31 isnt too old. Career ave 19.47, this season averaging 12.8 in the shield, left armer who swings it both ways and just took 5 fa with the pink ball in a day night shield game at the same venue last week.
The same Joel Paris who isn't in this Shield game due to injury?

Counting down the minutes to when and who raises the topic of the best cricket ground in the world. Im tipping it will happen before a ball is bowled.

Look it is a beautiful ground but as a Fast Bowler I would be trying to ping a hammy so I don't have to be a bowling machine for the batsman for 5 days.
