2nd Test England vs West Indies

From 3/53, England was 3/148 at stumps, a lead of 378 runs with 2 days remaining. Trecothick 88* with a chance for his second century in the test. At the current run rate, England could be 500 runs ahead by lunch, with five sessions remaining.

Isn't it just the West Indies cricket flag?

Anyway, I don't know if Lara will bat at all in this test...he's got an injured finger, apparently, and isn't on the field.

England 9/240 - Anderson and Hoggard in.

Lara's out caught in the slips by Flintoff - seemed to be a poor decision by Taufel. Looked like the ball came off the pad and missed the bat by a fair bit.

Windies may not see out the day now. 3/101

Collapse again

Chanderpaul lbw Giles 43, Bravo bowled 2 balls later. 5/172
Next Giles over, Gayle out. 6/177
First ball next over Jacobs hits Hoggard to Anderson at mid off who takes a one hander. 7/177

Banks and Collins both yet to score

8 for 182. this is bad. west indies have been down for so long yet they keep getting worse. not taking anything away from england, but very rarely do the windies show any heart.

Windies were never going to win, but I really hate to see the umpires caving in to the Poms constant appealling and giving so many awful decisions.

It really spoilt any chance the Windies had of saving this test. No way you could be 100% that Lara, Chanderpaul or Gayle were out. 3 very key decisions that should have gone in the batting teams favour...

Whinge whinge whinge ,sad to see.
Slow mo replay clearly showed Gayle edged the ball .
Totally the right decision...

Windies were never gonna bat for almost 2 days on that track..
save your tears for someone who deserves sympathy ,P.O.M.E .

Have i been seeing things?
Does Chanderpaul actually have advertising on his cheekbones ??

He does, but I can't workout what it actually says.

In the ODI series before the tests, about 3 Windies batsmen had it under their eyes. It's bloody weird, but surely the I.C.C must've allowed it.

The Lara decision was very harsh, even if there was a slight edge onto pad it was impossible to be sure but I think the Gayle one was a good decision, the super slo mo camera showed that it went from pad to bat & I don't think you can ever criticise the ump for getting it right.

As for the Chanderpaul one, it looked a bit harsh but he'd been padding up to balls from Giles for a while, there was at least one other one that looked likely to hit & in those circumstances some umpires just have enough of it if you keep on using the pad on it's own (the commentator said that he's seen Hair give those ones before as well).

I beleive that it's just the name of the comapny that makes the reflectors, apparently he doesn't get paid to use them he just picked them up in New York where he spends a lot of time.

The chanderpaul wicket was partly the result of good captaincy by vaughan, switching giles to hair's end.

Taufel had been giving nothing, Hair has a history of giving lbw's in those circumstances - bingo!

Giles has 18 wickets in two test matches - yes the West Indies really are that bad...
