If you wanted to take their logic to the next level, why wasn’t George Wardlaw measured on the impact to the team for all the games he missed?

As I said it’s just clowns trying to validate who they want to win. Using anything and everything to justify that viewpoint, while ignoring actual performances.

How do they know that Ashcroft level wouldn’t drop off in the last 6 games with fatigue?
LDU would be in the AA as would TT if missing games was in any way relevant. FWIW Sheezel was better even before Ashcroft was injured.

Shhhh!

The media want everyone to think that the Lions imploded and we’re a basket case because a 18/19 year old kid wasn’t in their midfield.

They want to save money on remaking the trophy that they had engraved with the name Ashcroft prior to Round 1.
Yeah, I keep hearing Ashcroft is the fave because they have never seen a kid walk into pre season with so much professionalism.
We have been under the mistaken impression that it is about performance during the year.

Sheez took his game to another level in the last 5 weeks - carried our ball movement. 121/144 disposals effective. So few mistakes, such high impact.

I personally think in a good team he’d be a better forward or midfielder than Owens or Ashcroft are too, but that’s just my opinion.

I’d have Amiss second personally.

I think he'll get North'd.

You get a bunch of pinheads like Cornes and Ling in a room and they all want to prove how clever and insightful they are.

They'll all come up with some fingernail-deep bullshit around how half-back is an easy spot to pick up cheap touches, especially at North because the ball was down there so much. They'll say Ashcroft had the better year because he was in the engine room in a top four team.

I really hope he wins, he deserves to, but I'm not holding my breath.

Kind of like how Goal Assists were never a thing until it came time to rob Ben Brown of an AA gig.

Exactly. They'll say it's easy to rack up all these touches off half-back in his first year, even though he's the only one racking up these touches in his first year.

Also, Kane hates regular kick in takers and their impact on stats.

Which is quite easily countered with ‘if it’s that easy, why aren’t they all doing it??’

Nick Daicos has to return his R.S. award then ?

Played for a better team that didn't concede so much territory, they'll say.

As TPA said, BBB kicked 60 three years in a row and didn't make it. I'm not holding my breath on Larkey either. These things have gone against us for a long time.
Surely they are running out of ideas . This maybe our chance for our club to get a crumb of recognition lol
