In a Venn Diagram of Collingwood fans and Taylor Swift fans I would not imagine there would be a lot of intersectionality.

In the venn diagram of Collingwood fans who know what a venn diagram is and what the word intersectionality means is a blank piece of paper.

Really pleased that Taylor is coming to us and that it's on his own volition. He was in good odour with his club so there seems to be no external reason for the move. My curiosity burns to know what triggered him to approach us between the prelim and GF.
In any case he's a great get.
He rolled himself out with injury that week. I think he just wasted no time and told his agent to get cracking

I think he wasn't playing enough mid time AND he only had 1 more year on his contract.

I wonder whether, in situations like this, we put a call put to the player managers and say “we are after x players for x positions, do you have anyone that fits this description who is interested in moving”.

This would make sense why Adams manager might have approached us and suggested he might be available pending the right offer.

Obviously often we target a specific player but Adams is not that case but I also doubt it was a random phone call to us.

I posited the idea of change-overs in the midfield throughout games as a way to ensure we've always got a fit and firing midfield over the course of four quarters, not just a half or three quarters. If we were to run say six mids through the midfield over the course of a game, ideally three of them would have the bulk of their rotations in the first half, before the other three would have the bulk of their rotations in the second half.

I doubt it will ever happen, there's probably logistical flaws to it that I'm blind to, but I do feel like the recruitment of Adams could be the closest we get to it, in the context of Parker. I've said before I'm 100% not in the Parker-is-cooked camp. I think the plan for him next year will be to absolutely play him in the midfield and only slowly phase him out into a forward role. However the blessing of Adams is that we can now swap the two whenever either of them needs it.

I don't mind it, it's a little like Geelongs run last year, seemed like they put their veterans more on the ball in the finals after keeping them fresh through the year.

that would make sense as it would be a deep thinking player to second guess a teams list strategy between finals matches to go hey I reckon the Swans want to restructure their on ball division for my skill set.

By the sounds of things he probably had Grundy in his ear too
That's what I was thinking too. I also thought that perhaps the fiancé is a Sydney girl as he mentioned she loved the idea, so after the suggestion was made, it was very appealing for all concerned.

Bucks on Taylor Adams at the start of this clip:

would be interseting to know what the 3 year deal lloked like. Did we split his current contract over 3 years, over 2 and added 1 year? Pay the 1 year add 2?
