Hmmm. Jaffer now seriously under fire. I know i'll be with the minority here, but i think if India should persist with him as a partner to Sehwag. How many times do you see Australia dropping someone after performing poorly in 3 tests? Granted it doesn't happen too many times but still, we have faith in our players and that HAS to rub off on the players.
Depends whether they want to bring back Singh for the next match, no bowler deserves to get dropped

Re: 3rd 3 Mobile Test Match: Australia v India @ Perth (Wed-Sun)

Fair enough we struggled in the SCG Test, but who would have thought the Perth Test would have been our biggest struggle, and at the cusp of a record breaking streak? :(

In hindsight it is not that surprising. India have had our top order in trouble in both Melbourne and Sydney through swing. If they could get the same shape on the ball on the WACA pitch they were always going to be a handful.

Re: 3rd 3 Mobile Test Match: Australia v India @ Perth (Wed-Sun)

Has Tait bowled yorker this match? Nothing but rubbish so far.

No bowler might deserve to get dropped, but can you afford to take in 5 specialist bowlers?? Although Pathan can bat..

Re: 3rd 3 Mobile Test Match: Australia v India @ Perth (Wed-Sun)

I know for a fact the Australian team are spewing about the pitch that has been dished up to them. They wanted a fast wicket, they were told they had a fast wicket and were told to employ the 4 quicks, now they have been dished up fairly docile pitch.

Re: 3rd 3 Mobile Test Match: Australia v India @ Perth (Wed-Sun)

Pathan playing Tait with ease ATM... absolutely no threat at all.

This sort of situation should be his forte, instead he is tossing pies all over the WACA.

LOL all those wides and no balls robs us of an over tonight. Keystone cops stuff.

Re: 3rd 3 Mobile Test Match: Australia v India @ Perth (Wed-Sun)

True. Dhoni hasn't been flash with the bat either though, playing him at 6 could mean a VERY long tail for india.

Alot depends on this innings by Pathan, if he makes runs it would be a near certainty, might even see Pathan batting above Dhoni :p

Re: 3rd 3 Mobile Test Match: Australia v India @ Perth (Wed-Sun)

I still don't understand the principle behind a nightwatchman? Surely a RECOGNISED batsman is a better chance to survive than sending in a lower order batsman and risking losing another wicket?

If you lose a nightwatchman its no massive loss. Losing someone like dravid or tendulakar on the other hand is a disaster.

They usually only have to survive a few overs.

So who sold them down the river. ICC or the curator or who?

Pathan is basically an all-rounder, he should be right.
