Would have preferred a proper result ie: a draw off the last legal ball bowled, or Australia claiming the final wicket. Either way it is looking increasingly likely that England have retained the Ashes today. I can only hope that they fight for the series win instead of playing subdued and having retained the Ashes in a "drawn" series.

how good is this archival footage

Also I'm assuming you all know about robelinda2's youtube channel? Has done more for cricket than Steve Waugh and Brian Lara combined

No way. That whole article suggest to me that parmy or parmi is right!
Read it out loud. "Parmy" will be said 10 times, "Parma" once right at the end.
It's PARMIGIANA, not PARMAGIANA.

Since when do Australians shorten a name without chucking on an A or O?
I know 3 Macca's, yet that second A isn't part of their name.

Parmy is a terrible name, plus no ones calls is a parmYgana.. Here in Australia, we call it a parmAgana

Did I just hear a XXXX commercial with Slater stating that the '48 Invincibles "won every game"?

Oh dear

Yeah noticed that the first time I saw it. Could you imagine a Budweiser ad in the US quoting incorrect stats about Babe Ruth and getting away with it? No wonder our kids know more about trivial seppo crap then they do their own nation's history.

Cricket was better when the chance to win $4,000 was enough to get international stars to come to Australia.

Now the Indians pay 'stars' millions of dollars cash money to play in a tournament I would be less inclined (and this is no exaggeration) to watch than an Australian apple-bobbing contest.

Also better when Australian fast bowlers came across as genuine likeable Aussie blokes, the sort you rarely meet anywhere these days let alone in a professional sporting team.

yeah it's top shelf. apparently the guy is a bit of a campaigner though. have read that from a few various sources, but he probably gets loads of people making requests and then getting really insistent when he can't do it and perhaps even abusive.... ultimately, if he doesn't have the footage, he can't make shit up out of thin air.
