Warner has had a bad game but they released Renshaw from the squad for a reason, he's playing all 5 Tests and one bad game won't change that. He played very well last Test and was acceptable in the first so I'd prefer to give him one more chance. Harris isn't capable of playing that 60 odd he hit in tough conditions in the previous game.

Disappointing that it has been left to Head & Marsh again but we've still got a good chance of walking away with a win. Wood will struggle after his first spell or two and even if we only set 250 (appreciating we need to get there first) England will be feeling the pressure more than us.

While I want us to win, it wouldn't be devastating to lose and for the excitement of a live series to continue into Test 4.

England has one power hitter (stokes). Australia has three if you count Warner and Head though they do tend to deal in fours more than sixes (Marsh/Green the others). Not really sure how this gives them any advantage
Warner can’t find the ball with the face of the bat though that’s not the point; more that it is unbalanced in favour of bat vs ball and field

Bloody nervous for tonight already. The match is nail bitingly poised with rain delays likely to extend the tension and probably not really favouring either team. The old ball will soak up a bit of water, the batters and bowlers will have to cope with going on and off, the outfield will get slower so maybe the Poms are favoured very slightly. Hopefully we can get to stumps with 5 wickets still in hand and bat well into the fourth day then clean them up for a 3-0 series lead. It’s still in the anything could happen mode. Don’t know if my nerves can take it.

The major issue we have is we have two batters in Warner and labs out of form in the top three. We can't have both atm and based upon past history his inability to play broad ..Warner has to go

Marsh and green can both play in the same team and will provide relief with the ball....Cummins is bowling himself into the ground atm and he needs support.

Ussie
Marnus
Smudge
Head
Green
Marsh

Don’t you just love Test cricket?

Reckon we’re slightly favoured until England get one of Head or Marsh. And I don’t think Wood will be able to run through the tail in the same way.

England slight favourites.

We're a wicket away from Wood getting into our tail. This ground has a record of big 4th innings chases in county matches this year (plays true, fast outfield) and England got 358-7 last time.

We really let them back into the game after lunch.

Yep. When you are invested in pretty much every ball as in this series there is nothing quite like it.

True but we are only two good partnerships and a few rain delays away from piling the pressure right back on them and frankly Englands main weakness is temperament, that and below par fielding and fitness.

So you’re only allowed to dislike or like someone who plays professional sport if you have met them? Fmd
Generally that's the way to judge someone in most cases (odd exceptions of course). Have no idea otherwise. Sportspeople are no different to other people in the way you judge them. Don't know about you but that's the way most people would do it. I leave the jealousy, hate and insecurity to those that have never achieved anything in their life so find the need to drag someone else down in their own mind. That's how it usually goes. Losers bagging winners. See it everywhere on social media.

100 per cent this.

There was a moment in Capper’s Open Mike where it sort of highlighted the ‘what you see vs what is reality’ aspect of famous sportspeople.

Now I am a Capper fan anyway - think he’s a demented genius and everyone I know who has met him said he’s exactly as full on in real life as he is in the media but they all say they like him. He mentions to Mike that there was one moment where he regretted things like the sex tape: ‘when my son told me to grow up and that he was embarrassed by me. That hurt.’ Just for maybe 5 seconds his wall comes down and you realise he’s just a bloke like anyone else albeit a very extreme one.

They’re all people.

I’m not going to make a decision about one of them because he made some mistakes on or off the field.
I keep seeing occasionally Stokes’ nightclub incident getting brought up.
Like a whole big percentage of the early to mid-20s population worldwide, get got drunk and fired up, and by all reports did it for a borderline worthy reason. People in here are potting him because he was visibly in pain last night.

The ability of the public to judge people on things they deem worthy of determining someone’s ‘goodness’ or ‘badness’ as a person is puzzling.
