I recall when Queen Elizabeth was last in Adelaide she did an open air walk along North Terrace. From my office balcony on North Terrace I could see police snipers set up on the tops of several tall buildings covering any possible shooter vantage point along the walk.

That the US secret service agents apparently did not do this and even then ignored crowd warnings of a person with a rifle climbing along the roof of a building just beggars belief.

The likely problem was that there were quite a few people on rooftops with rifles.

With many different security agencies in attendance (secret service, state sheriff’s dept, local police, FBI), how would people keep track of who are the goodies and who are the baddies?

It’s possible the shooter was seen beforehand, but it wasn’t realised he was a threat.

I’m a bloke you ****ing halfwit, I wasn’t laughing at the rednecks getting shot, which is kinda ironic in itself, I was testing the veracity of Krams apparent heightened empathy toward a couple of hicks attending a trump rally!

Right, you weren’t laughing at people dying…

Disgraceful, whatever one may think of Trump or his conduct, trying to assassinate a presidential candidate flies in the face of anything to do with democracy and human decency. The young man probably got off lightly being shot by the Secret Service. Don't care what his political affiliation is, there must have been something very wrong with him.

It’s so difficult to say how this might shift the election. It will certainly ensure Trump’s followers will rally around their messiah even more.

I’m upset the bullet wasn’t 3 inches to his left to be honest.

Be very careful what you wish for. As bad as things might seem now, that would have likely made things much much worse.

Democrats have to go extreme now. Not only dump BIDEN but come up with an out of the box candidiate. I.e. a Michelle Obama or Jon Stewart.

It has virtually zero chance of happening.
It's either Biden or Kamala (LOL). Trump will be president.

Absolutely. Give the RWNJ all the justification they need. I wouldn't go as far as a civil war but the gun loving inbreds would definitely have done retaliation killings.

I think it’ll get worse no matter what anyway , the republicans have been itching for a civil war for a long time now

Which is ironic

The bottom line is that trump is still the most divisive and biggest scumbag president of all time.
He is also an instigator of threats and violence.

Yes an assassination attempt doesn’t turn him into a good guy.

There have been good people who have been assassinated or attempted to be and bad people, doesn’t change the persons character and actions prior to the attempt.

Though it will galvanise those who want to believe he is taking on the deep state, secret pedo network etc.

C'mon.

A failed assassination attempt that leaves him essentially unscathed is a godsend for a billionaire who loves to play the underdog who 'the system' are out to get.

He was already looking like he was in the box seat with the rambling flatlining of Biden in the first debate but this seals the deal imho. That photo of him with a bloodied face fist pumping above the cowering security agents is worth millions of votes.

Remember that voting in the US election is not compulsory and getting people out to vote has always been the toughest task for the Democrat Party. Especially when the candidate is less than ideal.

She was laughing at the dead person in the crowd and you want to defend them?
People get shot and die every day in the USA. Do you and the others that are making it a big about them feel sympathy for them all?

Trump and his talk of violence, immigrants, blacks, retribution and vengeance is what caused this, not unexpected.

He didn't give a sh$t about George Floyd and Pelosis husband and none of those pointing the finger at others on here did either, so spare me.

Maybe he will tone down his rhetoric.

If the shooter hasn't left a suicide note or sociable media posts explaining his actions then it will just be a s#ht fight between left and right to make up the narrative that fits their agenda. Depending on this guys mental health state surely he knew he wasn't going to live to tell the story once he tried this on ?
