It's hilarious they still believe the rhetoric that he is anti-establishment, will "drain the swamp", will do anything for working class people and will do anything other than destroy government departments and regulations to make it easier for him and his cronies to make themselves richer. It's only been four years since he was voted out, you think they'd have longer memories 😵‍💫
Those are the details they are too dull or lazy to notice or think about. That is if either their SM algorithms or Fox ever mentions his actual policy decisions, and even rarer explains them.

Can you expand on this?
Hunter Biden asked a federal court in Delaware on Thursday to toss out his conviction in his gun case, citing the dismissal of charges against former President Donald J. Trump in his classified documents case in Florida.
On Monday, a federal judge in Florida, Aileen M. Cannon, threw out the case against Mr. Trump, saying the special counsel overseeing his prosecution, Jack Smith, had been unconstitutionally appointed.
Hunter Biden, President Biden’s younger son, who has been by his father’s side in recent days as the president faces mounting calls to exit the race, also cited a concurring opinion that Justice Clarence Thomas wrote when the Supreme Court expanded presidential immunity. In it, Justice Thomas raised doubts about how Mr. Smith got his job.

Judge Cannon unwittingly, or not, opened a can of worms.
So be it.
Hunter though has a point.

So f*** all to do with Biden, the President.

The redneck interviews generally let people spout awful hate and then laugh as they realise their elaborate conspiracy theory is logically debunked in front of them. With actual facts.

The righty creeps generally spout any rubbish to try and get their clip.

There is a HUGE difference.

I’m not surprised that is your opinion.

You’re saying that members of Congress have the legislated right to trade stocks on insider information that is provided to them in the course of their positions and not available to the general public.

Seems extraordinary.

Could you and Boogers please explain the mechanics of this for me. What legislation allows this?

Cheers

Watching the Trumpites at the convention with the copy cat ear bandages confirms for me this is now officially a cult, and he has them all sucked in. If they truly believe he is there for them they really live in a giant fantasy land, Trump only cares about Trump and his money.

It’s not insider trading if …

(1) The trade decision is based on publicly available information. Politicians will have the best knowledge and understanding of government policy. All the discussions and debate on the floor of the house and senate is on the public record (as are some committee hearings). And if you could be bothered to listen to it for days / weeks / months / years, and be able to join the dots on the info, then you too can pick stocks like a politician.

… and …

(2) It’s declared.

They want to be inside the tent so much they are willing to humble and embarrass themselves

Its a cold lonely place outside when you can hear the laughing and partying going on

Its human nature - bizarre - but thats where we are as humans

Much of the rhetoric in this thread is barely distinguishable from stuff in the footy threads …

A: Your coach is a sucky poo poo!

B: No, your coach is a sucky poo poo!

A: Well, Biden is the biggest sucky poo poo!

B: No, Trump is an even biggerer than the biggest sucky poo poo!

The thing is, our footy tribalism a bit of harmless fun. (Yeah, I know winning Premierships is deadly serious business … but it’s not quite at the level of the fate of nation states)

I suspect there are not too many folks in this thread who are on the US electoral role, so it’s all grist for the mill for us …

… but for those who do have the task of deciding who will run the US, it’s a tad worrying to see so many people who are following footy-club-esque-tribalism, rather than exercising some level of critical judgement about who is most likely to best deliver the quality of life for them and their loved ones.

Can’t hardly blame them, with the partisanship and rubbish peddled by the media these days. But hey, we get the media we deserve.

Apparently Trumps speech to close out the RNC was a bit of a mess.

In fact a few "undecided" voters were interviewed after it. And they pointed out it was too long (93 mins), made it all about himself, busted lying heaps, and offered no real policy in a long 93 minutes of rambling.

Some of the noteworthy highlights from his speech.

1. Asked people if they knew his friend the "late great Hannibal Lecter"

2. Praised Hungarys authoritarian leader Viktor Orban (another Putin Puppet)

3. Said North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un missed him

4. Attacked the UAW Union

5. Called covid the "China virus"

6. Said he was buying votes in Wisconsin

7. He thought Scott Walker was still the Governor of Wisconsin, and praised his leadership. The Governor is actually Democrat Tony Evers who did not even attend.

8. He said he was going to "take over the auto industry"

9. Called Nancy Pelosi "Crazy Nancy"

10. He said he wanted to hold the next Republican Convention in Venezuela

11. Spread lies about the 2020 election

12. Bragged that the Taliban called him "your excellency", and said that they probably don't call Biden that

See some of it below.

Most people have established their life was of higher quality under Trump and have no faith a guy like Biden can fix it. He barely knows where he is.

Also not a good day for JD Vance either, left his Venmo contacts list public. Over 200 major donors, operatives, a few billionaires, some of those behind January 6th, and also the architects of Project 2025.

Which is funny, because says he is against the elites and acts like a populist. Yet behind the scenes is close friends with, or associated with them so called elites. He is bankrolled by them. When the Republican brag how they will drain the swamp. Remember, they ARE the swamp.

Also amongst his contacts is Amalia Halikias, director of the Heritage Foundation, the conservative think tank behind the controversial Project 2025. So much for Trump saying he knows nothing about Project 2025, and the ones behind it trying to claim they are separate from the Republican Party. They are all in the same boat.

If the Democrats want to halt any of Trump and Vances momentum. They need to pounce on days like today.

Interesting, there are pictures of Trump on Sunday, one day post attempt, with no ear bandage.
Then the at the RNC he turns up the wounded warrior.
Funnily, one instance, they say, he had the bandage on the wrong ear.

Not sure too many Americans can reasonably consider that their life was better in COVID times, when many had friends or family die or be debilitated by it?

Those who have money / 401K’s invested in the stock market will see that they’ve become more wealthy under Biden.

Those who don’t will be reflecting on the inflationary pressures under Biden - some will consider that as he’s the leader he needs to be responsible for it (reasonable), others will see that inflation is a global thing and not really within Biden’s control (also reasonable)

They won’t

To be fair, these days it’s more reasonable to assume that the video / photo image has been reversed (happens all the time) rather than a person forgetting which ear got shot.
