Why? Unless you're a short-sighted TV executive or an alcoholic who needs an thinly veiled excuse to drink for 5 days straight, why would it be in your interest to artificially make a game more boring so that it lasts longer?

Seems like ridiculous logic to me. Playing on roads may satisfy short-term TV imperatives, but it ultimately helps kill test cricket.
It's not a road

And how many times in recent memory have 5 day tests that are not rain effected even happened?

I should follow this up by saying I agree with what you're saying. This Test is well poised and Jaiswal is awesome to watch. Just sick of the constant denigration of T20 cricket when it's not relevant on here. "T20 generation" is pretty pretentious phrasing IMO.

Still much prefer the real deal and I'll only watching T20s when the Heat are playing or the World Cup.

I don't know what else you call this complete impatience causing people to give up on a game because we went less than 2 hours on day 2 without a wicket.

Surely Reddy or Sundar are a better watchman?

Reckon they have used Washington in the past. I’d rather have him as night watchman than batting at 9. He could go on and make a ton if he survived the night.

I like Reddy but think he is better playing a flamboyant style and wouldn’t be that keen on him doing the role. He’s good with the tail too
