India bowled way too short in the first hour. Yeah Konstas played and missed a few but it had to be fuller to grab an edge.

112-1 in a session is incredible on a wicket that's doing more than enough for the bowlers. MCG has been the lowest scoring ground in Australians tests for sometime so for a kid on debut to do that is beyond incredible. If Head gets going this afternoon we could be looking at a monster score

Well on reflection, a 19 y.o, adrenalin pumping on debut in front of 90k in a Boxing Day test, works out a way to score, settles down and gets 60 on debut.

That’s one thing lost in most of the discussions, the pitch was doing plenty, and still we have blunted their attack and scored runs. Bumrah going at 5 an over without a wicket on a pitch doing things? Great start

That innings from Konstas has made Ussie and Marnus looked a lot more relaxed out there. Marnus finally not coming in at 1/5. Ussie just rolled along with the young kid happy just to rotate the strike, as he needed do do nothing else.

You have to TRY and score though and both of them were horrible at it, it was a terrible partnership. There’s a reason the highest partnership was 31 score moved nowhere as both weren’t trying. McSweeney probably comes in for Smith in a year or two

It was audacious but the first three overs they couldn't get near it.
High risk, high reward. Not orthodox but on that pitch he found a way to tame Bumrah and get under old man Kholi's skin who see his cricketing mortality in Konstas.

McSweeney may be a good player but not sure we could say that based on the little we have seen and unluckily against Bumrah.

It’s a shame Pukovski is no loner around.. imagine those two at the top order for 10 years +.
