We should just have Marsh open. If he lasts an over, that's one less over our real openers have to face
we should have marsh FRO
honestly would now be better off with will pucovski, concussion issues and all

Lyon is past his used by date. He is too busy bowling quick darts because he is scared of getting hit these days.

Most of Lyon’s wickets come from dumb shots now, not him beating the batsmen.

He was bowling flat quick shit at 86-88 km yesterday.

May as well been giving the Indian batsmen throw downs bowling that garbage.
He has always bowled long spells a bit quicker than ideal, and often been more of a bounce then spin bowler. I don't think he's done. Largely doing what has always done, against a team, which (while many are out of form) has good players of spin.

Just saw the score.

Thought this pitch was a road…. Though not surprised Marsh got a duck off 4 balls. Lasted 3 balls more than expected.

Might as well have gone the tonk and got some quick runs from the start, couldn’t have been worse off than now.

It's get out.

Smith - Really? WTF was that?

Head. Both feet off the ground, bat 2 feet in front of body, trying to force the ball to the legside with a packed legside field.

Marsh. You're 6'6" and you've played a deadbat shot to a ball that's 4 feet over the top of middle stump and feathered it to the keeper. Ever heard of dropping your hands Mitch?

Carey. Big forcing defensive shot, misses straight ball. Let's defend a bit tighter when we're 5 down and in trouble huh?

In reality I'd rate Konstas the same as Carey but I'll let him off due to inexperience.
With Marsh either drop the hands or play a leg side shot, not a timid fend. Gone out exactly the same way every innings.

Would have been all out for 60.

Game isn’t over yet but I think Australia has been burnt this series by picking underdone not 100 percent fit players

Hazelwood could not get through a test was picked

Marsh struggling all series to bowl overs has hurt

And this test head imo is not 100 percent and had a niggle last test and his performance has been poor this test

Now Mitch Starc is clearly struggling wil
The selectors make the same mistake they have in the past and this series ?? Picking clearly not 100 percent players

Why is everyone in this thread ripping into Labs? The only guy holding onto his wicket (even with a drop in the 40s, thats 20 better than anyone else).

Shielding Cummins from Bumrah is 100% correct strategy, as he has taken out our entire middle order. Labs has his eye in the best, so better he take strike momentarily to ensure Cummins does not face him early.

Losing a few runs, but keeping Cummins in - is 100% the go. Particularly as we're not really aiming for 350 now, with 250+ really our best shot now.

Time to look to the future.

He bowls now hoping for the batsmen to play a dumb shots, not to beat them with the ball.

He’s had his time. This tram needs to start regenerating.

Marsh can **** right off too. May as well play 10 with a sub fielder.

Why are these commentators so oblivious to how bad we’ve been with the bat. They should be destroying our blokes but instead they’re blowing smoke up the Indians arses. We’ve become the simps of world cricket
commentators disparaging "the machine" (CA) is not 'good for business'.

Its def Head that's let us down this series.
Since the start of last summer, it's been his ability to make big scores that has masked some pretty patchy form though. A bit more consistency from him would be good.
