Isaac Heeney

Isaac Heeney is a crowd favourite and one of the best young players in the competition. The QBE Sydney Swans Academy graduate won the 2018 AFL Mark of the Year award, was selected in the AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22 team in two of his eligible four years and played his 100th senior game in 2019. Heeney can be used in the midfield, forward line – where he booted four goals in star teammate Lance Franklin’s absence in Round 20 last year – or as a loose man in defence.

Isaac Heeney
DOB: 05 May 1996
DEBUT: 2015
DRAFT: #18, 2014 National Draft
RECRUITED FROM: Cardiff (NSW)

Awesome debut. 17 possessions, 7 tackles and the match sealer

Classy performance and extremely composed for a youngster

He has warranted a spot in the best 22, it's his spot to lose imo

Most tackles for any Swans player as well. Like Mitchell he is a bit of a tackling machine.

With more versatility as an added bonus. Just wait for 2-3 years when he can run out the whole game, you are talking practically a clone of Luke Parker.

Can't see Heeney getting dislodged out of the lineup any time soon, also can't see him getting the sub treatment after today's game.

One of the best debut games from an Swans player in recent memory.

Ed Barlow :D

No - I don't think it applies here though.

Genuine prime beef is Isaac.

Touched on earlier in this thread.... yep, we'll have to trade quality for Mills and Dunkley - we must ante up for both. Heeney is a lock and if Mills is better then it's time to trade the farm.

Luckily for us our development is so good and culture so strong we have value to trade. I'd have to question where Mitchell, Jones and Hewett sit after missing the first round, Towers after that game and Jetta and Reid are the perennial question marks. A couple of those could very easily equal decent picks, well enough to bring in a few 2nd rounders at least....

Mitchell?
the man who allegedly can be overtaken by a slightly enthusiastic glacier?

Tackles people? who are moving?

Allegedly so! The rumour is he actually tackled more people in a game last year than any of the entire rest of the squad managed to do in any game for the entire season.

Can't be true though. He was immediately dropped.

This kid surprises me every time i see him play. I know we were told he was talented but i didnt think we were dealing with this sort of talent.

One of the commentators summed it up perfectly by saying he lools like a 200 game player already. Love his aggressiveness the most.

I dont want to put the moz on him but gee he reminds me of fyfe. The way he moves and his marking ability. Very strong hands for his age. Nearly outmarked 2 port players in a contest on the wing.

He is sensational
