Blair needs to give Baker and WCE a deadline of midday tmw, otherwise move on the freo offer for Bolton/baker with 10, 11 and 18. and then tidy up the Rioli deal on wednesday. Also….freo happy to do Bolton/baker for 10,11,18 but not Bolton for 10,11 is just bizarre list management…
You can't force an uncontracted player to sign with a team. Not sure how we just accept Freo's offer if Baker says no.
Baker needs to understand Freo is the better fit for him though, however he must have been speaking to Graham and wants them both to play at West Coast. That would be the only reason he is holding out.

Definitely need Baker to agree but by tomorrow arvo he might have a choice between Richmond and Freo - if WCE can’t get us a pick inside of 20 by then. Agree Freo is a better fit also.
I'm finding it strange that Freo are effectively offering 11 for Baker, just as strange that WCE were offering 14.
I consider 11 as way overs, but being used in a way that adds leverage to the 10 & 18 deal for Bolton.

Presuming the WCE & Freo Baker offer$ are equivalent
Baker plays with Bolton at freo. If JG is his best buddy, rent a room to him & his partner.
RFC c/should pay more of Bolton's salary to get 10, 11 & 18.

Would be a lot bloody simpler if he said Fremantle though, lol. That's a good deal on the table.

Could we re-sign him for 1 or so years until he reaches free agency and then we get a better pick for him???

Carlton has continued to push for the Eagles' No.3 pick as the Eagles look at ways to slide back down the order, with out-of-contract small forward Matt Owies also on West Coast's radar.
The Eagles fans on here don't want Baker. But they might end up with Baker and Owies.

Hell no. He gave up this year and could potentially get a serious injury. Also after his p155 poor BnF speach nobody wants him back. After all the clubs sooking over FA compensation this year it'll take > $1mil for band 1 next year. Probably > $850 Band 2. Best we'd HOPE for is Band 3 which even if we finish last would be pick 20 (blow out to >28 after academy, F/S picks in a WEAKER draft). Club needs to hold firm on picks 10 + 11 from Freo for Bolton (would be better if we had a sweetener to throw back but the good ones evaporated to the Bears) Baker + 10 for pick 3 is a fair trade.

We don’t have the picks from freo yet, and I assume Richmond/baker have given the eagles until Tuesday to save the deal before they pivot to Fremantle

Yeh but if we’re willing to play poker with Fremantle all the way up until the trade deadline or even keep Bolton, the baker deal would’ve fallen over
