Swung by the Southern Snake Pit on a windy Saturday afternoon and saw St Bedes get a win when they did not look like it. Only saw the last quarter and a half but it looked like they missed their chance in the 3rd qtr after dismal kicking at goal. Old Brighton looked like they would come over the top but the move of the Bertron to the backline proved the difference as he rebounded everything that came his way and the tigers kicked away. Phibbs was great as well.

The way they played in the last qtr really showcased the difference between the top and lower grades. Its staggering how good they are compared to when they played us back in C grade days just a few years ago. Hats off to them.

They should knock off Xav's if they play like they did in the last quarter, however, there were blokes that took a few extra steps on Saturday which may bring them unstuck come finals if they're not careful...

Mo..

You might have to translate that into English. Not familiar with the lingo.

Are you saying that Collegians have 2 secret weapons that will help them beat De La?

From what I've seen they'll need Judd & Ablett to get near them.

Didn't need those two, however went very close to the money i.e. 5 points.

4 more scoring shots and a rampaging last qtr nearly got them over the line.

Worrying signs for De La leading up to finals one would suggest

Fair go cardio,

De La had the Lions measure all day, had Nick Reis not been playing De La would have won by 5-6 goals.

His 3 goals in time on in the second kept you in the match.

De La will not have to worry about Collegians come finals time.

One thing I think we can both agree on was the terrible umpiring, I know even Sholly himself was shaking his head at some of the decisions.

De La getting comfy at the home of football

Oh my god!.

I agree on the umpiring but the rest of your comments are, with all respect crazy.

Are you saying as soon as the qtr goes into time-on they switch off or start walking off the ground - ever heard of 'junk time'?

Also, I suppose you just hope another team does not have a dominant forward or some guy stepping up for 5-6 goals.

I doubt the 3 blokes that played on Reis would be happy with your thoughts.

I agree with Cardio in regards to another forward stepping up to the plate. Are you forgetting Duggan's 6 goal haul, God Yeah? That was his highest score for the year he hasn’t performed as well as that against the teams who will most definitely be in the top 4 at the end of the season, the highest score he has kicked so far was against SBMT with a total of 4. So you could say he had an exceptional day and without him you could also speculate that you may not have been so lucky on Sunday.

And the umpiring was pathetic on Sunday, you'd expect with 3 field umpires you'd get some things right!! Bloody Muppets!!

David Spriggs, Old Brighton would be shattered with the amount of money they have invested into Sprigga, I watched him on the weekend and Anstey murdered him

"spigga".. good mates with him Truth Hurts?

I thought if you were watching anyone it would be Paul Groves as you constantly post about him, for whatever reason that is....

Disappointing news from Old Ivanhoe re the replacement of senior coach Dan Winkle. I hope that the handover was done in an appropriate manner by the powers that be (and the players) at OI as Dan is a quality person that deserves to be treated with respect.

Give it a rest pal.
they are obviously going to be relegated and need to move as fast as possible to find a replacement coach that will enable them to move fwd.
it may be that the club captain (Thompson) shows his worth in the remaining 5 games and gets the job.

Thanks for the insight jogger. I dont think Thompson will be at the Club next year either.

Keep up the ripping form on field. You've been excellent.

OB over OX
OS over Marc
Coll over OI
UB over SBMT
DeLa over OE

Very important round for UB to stay one game clear of OS and Coll who are battling to make it into the top 4.
