That presser was a shocker. He seems to be so far out of his depth.

If that was the case, they should’ve been honest with this last week when obviously they knew deep down pick 2 was highly unlikely. Temper expectations for supporters, highlight that if we only get Band 2 that they will do everything to strike a deal with another club and if not the risk to match is too high to only move up 6 list spots by trading with the Saints. None of this false bravado about matching if it’s not pick 2 and being happy to keep him.The only line I can stomach is why risk for 6 spots.
Don’t you mean Justin Reid?Mistakes can happen, but not like this, we just lost Hollands. If this was an international org in the NBA or EPL, he would have been gone at 5:05.
They do, that's fair.Oh I agree, just an example that better clubs than ours make poor list management calls as well.
Saints had a hand of nothing, and yet still won the game, as they looked across the table and saw we were holding a deck of beer coasters instead of playing cards.
But does he do the Fandango? He’s the Anthony Scaramucci of the AFC
Fair call, but this seems like a wider problem with people higher up than Kelly. Up until his messaging over the last week (which I think was just towing the line of people actually making the decisions), he’s done some good things this season. Reid is the person I want gone. They do, that's fair.
But we have now a good ten years of diabolical decision making, incompetence just waived on.
They've turned the AFC into a complete joke
I think we need a few more options, but the latter is becoming more appealing every yearPretty sure the answer is either to trust the club or not barrack for it
We've almost got enough disaster pressers for a mix tape. That presser was a shocker. He seems to be so far out of his depth.
Imagine being able to refer to $600k as "only"Imagine asking for $1m/yr and only getting $600k though...(still slightly sad to see him leave but)
Might need some media lessons, but the club would also be controlling what he says as well. I just feel like the club has put him out as the fall guy, Reid should’ve fronted last week and today, he’s an absolutely piss weak disgrace. Kelly was involved in some very good assistant coach hires, so he must be good at some aspects of the job.
Rowe firing up at the end was classic.I liked the bit when it ended
Meet the new Footy boss, same as the old one. That presser was a shocker. He seems to be so far out of his depth.
Same same but different.Meet the new Footy boss, same as the old one.
Much easier to do cliche talk at an appointment interview than actually being drilled about a job you have just performed questionably. If only Balme had agreed to join us ......i'm sure this whole episode would have been played differently
Kelly has not shown an ability to impose his will on the club ......inexperience or out of his depth
Currently he appears to be the media mouthpiece for club decision makers .....rather than being a force in the decision making process
I was gouing to mention last week, Kelly was far more confident in his tone when appointed .....since then his voice has changed with a hint of nervousness when he speaks, subdued, quiet, almost apologetic ......certainly not the confident speaker that he was upon his arrival at the club
Imagine being able to refer to $600k as "only"
This is not a good thread, Kelly is not the source of this fu** up. It's a total club culture issue. Relax on Kelly for now. Bit it's not looking great for him or Nicks. Both favoured throughout the recruitment process. Do no forget that they were employed by the same dudes that highly valued the sacked fu**silly people from the review they didn't want to have.
Simply, do not trust for a single second that our board will make the right critical decision at any given opportunity.
This is correct. He will never recover from this
He said on C7 news tonight that "this was a signpost of how we approach trades in future." Is he fo real. Totally out of his depth. We need someone better. That's my take.
"We would love Band 1 compensation but that's out of our hands"
Huh? Our future approach to trading will be to roll over like a puppy and get our tummy tickled whilst wetting ourselves? He said on C7 news tonight that "this was a signpost of how we approach trades in future." Is he fo real. Totally out of his depth. We need someone better.
