Tell me who misses out here? Maybe dogs want a few more points for their buck
Essendon misses out... funnily enough Carlton big winners...

My arguement is that if the blues are offering saad somewhere in the vicinity of $600-700k a year then its difficult for them to then say hes not worth a valuable draft pick..

Your argument is to dribble on about “if he was a free agent blah, blah, blah” and “if he was contracted blah, blah, blah”.. all irrelevant rubbish because he’s neither of those.

He’s a player that essendon put a decent contract in front of.. carlton has quite obviously have chucked something just as good, if not better, in front of him to lure him out of the Bombers.. in doing so they now need to back it up and deal with the dodo..

Dodo was always going to ask for players plus pick 7 etc etc.. thats the way he works. If Carlton are dumb enough to get themselves into a situation where they have to deal with dodo then thats on them. Thats the reality of it regardless of how much hyperventilating you do.

Now I dont think saad is worth pick 7 and De koning or walsh or any other player..

But if Carlton want to chuck $600-700k at saad then my opinion is that they should atleast hand over pick 7.. and if he was a Carlton player going to the dons on that type of salary you would be arguing for pick 7 guaranfknteed... in fact you, brutalpop, would probably be demanding more. Your hypocrisy knows no bounds on here.

What hypocrisy? Ive said pick 7 with Saad and future second round coming back. Ive also said pick 27 with a player. Somewhere between that is fair value.

Outright swap for pick 7 is ridiculous. Pick 7 plus a player, ANY player, is batshit crazy.

Go back to the Brad Crouch thread. I wont be replying to any further nonsense from you here.

That story was leaked by Carlton to reignite the narrative that Dodoro is difficult. Hoping that the public is on your side when you try and pull the same scumbag move you pulled on Gold Coast last year.
The media narrative has been all essendon to that point.

If those proposed trades are true... would you say Dodoro is being difficult? If they are accurate representations that is.

What scumbag move? We offered a reasonable trade, they wanted a first round pick.

There is 0 chance you take Saad at the draft whether it be PSD or ND. Absolutely 0. Picking him up on what would be an inflated contract when he doesn’t want to be there would be a great way to piss off your players even more.

Far more worried about North Melbourne. Don’t think Adelaide, Freo or GC have a go. The Hawks are an interesting one and it wouldn’t surprise me.

But I’m confident it won’t get to that stage.
Yeah I actually wouldn't put that past Dodoro if he reached Essendon's pick, but I highly doubt he'd pass North or Hawthorn. Saad seems to be prepared to play for a club other than Carlton if it has to get to that.

Like always, a deal will get done and all of this BS amounts to nothing.

Some of you Essendon supporters are just complete nuffies, no wonder Dodoro can keep his job at the club.

1) Essendon pissed off Saad enough he will walk to draft, that gives us a best case scenario price tag of nothing (nada, zilch) while Essendon get nothing itself.

2) We have no obligation to even negotiate with Essendon instead of getting him for free in draft, so if we are negotiating count your lucky stars we are being generous.

3) how stupid is Dodo to even ask for pick 7 plus something when he knows full well that if we are forced to use pick 7, we can do it through the ND for only pick 7 and Bombers get zilch.

How bombers fans can think Dodo asking for extreme overs will result in getting pick 7 when we always have the threat of getting Saad for free just boggles my mind lol

You talk about pick 19 blowing out to 25, and 11 blowing out to 15-18.
You realise pick 7 will end up being about pick 9-10

Unless you think crouch or daniher get band 1 then 7 doesnt move..williams and cameron compo would be picks 9 and 10 so they dont move it back.

They wanted pick 9 which we had on the table for Papley. Which didnt go through because two top 10 picks was apparently unders for Daniher.

We ended up trading it to Gold Coast anyway.

think WB would want more points than that. Carlton would have to add more to that deal. maybe finding another second.

i could see geelong offering 16 and 33 for it or something like that which trumps that comfortably

13 for saad is pretty good for Ess, Carlton need to find more points for WB though

Where's that been reported? Bigfooty?

It seems Carlton are very willing to do a fair deal is it?
What is Carlton actually offering? Funny the Carlton propaganda piece doesn't mention that.

You must’ve missed the article in this thread a few days ago that stated we were willing to deal pick 7. Your supporters ran with it as a confirmation we’ll deal 7 on its own. Plenty of I told you so’s.

If it was any other club I’d believe it was fluff. This is Dodo. His head is where the sun don’t shine.

Jesus Christ, trade week doesn't even start for 3 weeks or so, and everyone is getting up in arms.
Carlton fans especially, 3 weeks out from trade week and they are all over a report about an preliminary trade request that was obviously leaked by Carlton for the purpose of what? Trying to look more "mature" or "professional" than Essendon.
Stuff them, marching Saad to the PSD.
What has been Carltons first offer? Why hasn't that been reported?
I even question the validity of the report.
Why would Essendon want TDK, Draper has shown as much as TDK. Doubt Essendon want 2 young developing ruckmen that can't really impact up forward.

So long to go before this is done, but lets not get your panties in a bunch just yet.

It's freaking hilarious.

The AFL LOVE this. Trade week is the biggest media storm event of the year. It's bigger than the finals.

Every mention of "Dodo.." gets people going absolutely freakin mental. Every tweet and FB post has a million replies. Talk about losing your shit.

That wouldn't make sense for geelong they already have 11 and 15 if they wanted a kid that badly at 13 they would select them at 11

From a player's association point of view, with mental health being such a big thing, there's no way they will stand back while a player who wanted out of a certain club, was then drafted back into that club, after they'd bagged him on the way out the door.
From an AFL perspective, there's no way they want another mental health retiree, or for a club or the league to be sued for a restraint of trade.
If it ends up being a PSD scenario (as good as it would be for the lols, I hope it doesn't), I'm pretty confident that Essendon are out of the race.
With list sizes and salary caps reportedly about to be cut, who would risk 5 years at $650k on a player who might not play a game?
Collingwood?
Bargain compared to Beams. ;)

The dogs don't get enough points in that deal considering they need to dig up two extra list spots to utilise them, they also might get better offers for it. Pick 41 is currently Essendon's second pick (they traded their second rounder), even with a pick coming in for Daniher and 13 coming in, they still might use that pick.

Carlton make out like bandits not surprisingly.

I wont be “going back to the brad crouch thread” no matter how many times you arrogantly demand that I do..

Im presenting MY opinion here.. if you have a problem with that then thats on you. You can simply ignore it if you dont like it.

And, in any case, you are the one that responded to my original post and started this whole conversation with me in the first place you absolute muppet.. so I dont know why you are carrying on about it like I’m somehow the instigator of it.. Dont worry, i’ll be very happy if you no longer respond to my comments with your ignorance. Block me for all I care.

I think if saad is getting offers of $600k or more from the Blues then he’s worth pick 7 in a trade and Carlton should just get it done. that is my opinion. And one of your fellow blues supporters even said the same thing a couple of pages (comment #2976) back.. didnt see you get all hysterical at him about it..

7 will slide into the teens
Williams and Jez will push it by 2.
Crouch & Daniher may push it by another 2
JUH bid will come top 5. Campbell somewhere before 10.
We're at 12 by that stage.
You're not getting Band 1 compo for Danniher lol.

Carlton might have to give up more the Dogs, but pick 13 is just fine for Saad. A little overs, but not too much.

Word is that Western Bulldogs have a couple of clubs looking at that pick..

crows could offer them 20 and 29 for it and even give a wink and a nod that they wont bid on JUH at pick 1 and thus give them a massive points win equivelant to handing them pick 30..

So the deal would have to be better than 27, 41 and 45 for pick 13..

The crows will probably bid on Jones (port NGA) at 8 too..

Which is irrelevant to pick 7 but is relevant if carlton want to split it and give the bombers a pick in the early teens..
