Would you prefer stupid trade hypotheticals with you getting 6 or 7 instead? ;)

You can have Jack Silvagni for Saad and 6. I will even throw in Lachie O'Brien for nothing.

Wait till you see what Zac Williams can potentially earn.
Just factor in carlton having 105% of the salary cap which no one else this can. This equates to about 650k more than any other team. Plus the retirements of kreuzer and Simpson. You’d have to think about 1.5-2 million spare bit even raking into account the front loading of martins contract and others. Blues need to spend the 105% or risk losing it.

Not unless Silvagni and Cripps have legally swapped names prior to the trade I'm afraid.

We're not currently trying to buy half the players in the AFL, so it's not particularly relevant this off-season. Maybe next year it'll be a relevant Bombers meme.
Neither are we. Signed Williams and bringing in Saad.
You've thrown $450k at an 11 gamer and will have to replace Bellchambers, Daniher, Fantasia, Saad, McKenna and recently recruited Shiel, Stringer and Smith for a flag tilt.

So you're obviously referring to past history. In which case, you're the only club guilty of breaching the cap in a flag year. So let's just leave the stones on the ground where they belong.

Three time premiership player being offered $900k a year Brad Hill? Is that the Brad Hill you are comparing him to?
This Brad Hill?

Thanks crippsy for further proving my point. He won his premierships before getting the increase in trade value and money 😁

did you just selectively compare 2020 stats to 2019 to try to show something? You do realise that the games were 20% shortened right? My god you nailed it hahahahahaha that was worth the effort

So where are Saad's premierships that increase his value?

Had to compare the years that they were traded.
Alright, so let's compare Saad this year with Hill this year.

So that says to me 'buyer beware!'
He's likely to drop his output dramatically once he comes across.

Why do you keep saying and showing data which make saad look even better then what I suggested?

your bad at this. Very bad 😆

Just wait for p8 to happen, Saad is a reasonable HB but not top a top 10p quality and if Dodoro doesn’t agree, he can try and convince his former player to stay at EFC.
Regardless of what position he plays you want the third best player at Essendon fc pay up or shut up. Pick 8 will have to be on the table if not salad can pickick up his keys for his new Hyundai at Carlton and drive himself to the pre season draft.

Uhh... what? Saad is "likely" to dramatically drop his output because Hill had a down year in games with shortened quarters?
You ok?

Yes you’re correct, that Would be amazing Karma for Dodoro to have the EFC use a p6 or their hard earned pick7 just to save face and humiliation to secure a disgruntled and unappreciated player in Adam Saad.

With the player exodus I can understand that.
And you can have 8, with Saad and a first coming back. Don't care if it's the last pick of the round, just get us a first and 8 is all yours.

Adam Saad was traded to Essendon for a future second round pick and in three subsequent years has done nothing at all to make himself anymore valuable at the trade table.

I wish Essendon would sort their issues out and stop their players leaving. The circus that follows with their gross over valuing of players is nauseating.

Correct. At the time he was traded to Essendon, he was rated as a late first/early second. He's still rated as a late first/early second.

Only difference this time around is Dodoro is the seller, not the buyer.

Still hearing Pick 8 highly unlikely for Saad. Blues very much about readymade players this year and will go to draft with minimum requirements as we have the young talent

Pick 8 still may be needed for another player in discussion or split to get in another couple of "very handy" players we are meeting with. If and it's a big If, we use Pick 8 for Saad something else very good will need to come our way. Lots to play out yet as so many scenarios to discuss. Don't expect anything too early but Austin has it well under control

I still believe 2 x Second Rounders or a 2nd rounder and player is most likely. Kennedy or McGovern are options

The only way I'd happily given them pick 8 is if they take McGovern :p

There's no way Dodoro accepts that. Pick 8 has to be involved in the trade and the good thing coming your way is Saad. Possibly a second or third coming back, but that's it. We are already looking at Peter Wright and Dunkley. We have no need for Kennedy or McGovern.

Carlton are more professional than what some Carlton fans on here want them to be. I've said this before, but you may think Carlton has all the bargaining power. They don't, not because Saad is contracted, but because Carlton can't continuously get players to nominate them and then be unable to do a deal. It'd hurt Carlton's reputation among opposition players, opposition clubs and player managers.

Papley, Martin and Saad in the space of two years isn't a good record. How can Oliver put faith in Carlton for a trade next year if Carlton cannot do the deal? His manager may advise against a request to Carlton because Melbourne will want the world and Carlton are unable to do the deal.
