Wow I was at the Sydney game and they did not "find a way to lose". Extremely impressive performance from the boys playing top of the ladder at their home ground after Sydney had flogged Hawthorn the week previous. Found themselves behind at the final changed and worked hard for a well deserved win.
It's easy to play down a win to suit your argument but this game shaped their season after a lack lustre first few rounds.
Don't know about that. Collingwood have won 5 from 10, a fired up West Coast have the weapons to beat Collingwood. And West Coast are going to play in 30 degree heat... Collingwood are as good as through to the prelim.
At no stage in any of those games did the opposition get on top of us, so I think we can discount the first option. I suspect it's a combination of the latter - playing that style is too mentally, emotionally and physically draining to sustain it for four quarters. The question for mine is did it cease because the opposition responded, because we mentally and emotionally took the foot off the gas, or because we couldn't sustain the standard?
Think we can win, but Swans are not to be underestimated.
That's the exact same point I've been stressing on the main board; people seem to think I'm paranoid. Our good record vs Sydney does not count for anything.
You sir, are spot on the money! Sadly, the boys did not adhere to your proposition...Kicking straight will be the most important factor tomorrow! We butchered many opportunities against Gold Coast. Sydney will not let us off so easily.
