Wow I was at the Sydney game and they did not "find a way to lose". Extremely impressive performance from the boys playing top of the ladder at their home ground after Sydney had flogged Hawthorn the week previous. Found themselves behind at the final changed and worked hard for a well deserved win.

It's easy to play down a win to suit your argument but this game shaped their season after a lack lustre first few rounds.

Yeh but the only reason we beat Sydney is because they played Hawthorn the week before, remember? Nobody wins the week after playing Hawthorn. And if that's not the reason, the only reason is because Goodes got injured. They were going to destroy us in those last 15 minutes of the game if Goodes didn't get injured, even though we were actually in front when he went down. And if it wasn't either of those things, it was the full moon that done it.

Whatever it was, it definitely wasn't the Crows playing well, or being a decent side. We only avoided the wooden spoon because of our soft draw you know.

Quite nervous now. Heading AAMI sometime around 1.

To the game: Probably already mentioned but one of the keys to beating Sydney is to stop their run from their backline. Shaw, Malceski, Mattner all provide drive through the middle leading to an inside 50 opportunity. Cats did a great job preventing quick transition and the Swans simply bombed the ball into the 50 which proved easy pickings for Scarlett and co. Reid is a big in for the Swans and he has very great hands. We need to make sure we have someone third up.

Goodes is a danger but his form has been down ever since he came back from injury. His better games are getter further and further apart. Nonetheless, stopping him is a number one priority given what he did to us in round 6.

Tex and Tippert should dominate but Teddy is in All Australian form so it's going to be a tough day for whoever he plays on. Grundy is a loss for them but he is prone to producing a number of errors. How will LRT adjust to going back into defense? We should be able to exploit him.

Should be a cracking game but I think we should get up by a couple of goals. Our forwardline should give us enough goals.

We must win there is no alternative, too much riding on the whole finals series not to be hungry and win..........Sydney will try and shut the game down.........we must get a good start and have 5-6 goals on the board at 1/4 time, our defense aside from Talia really really worries me, it needs to stand tall be organised and make the right decisions.........Crows by 27 points :)

The question for mine is did it cease because the opposition responded, because we mentally and emotionally took the foot off the gas, or because we couldn't sustain the standard?
At no stage in any of those games did the opposition get on top of us, so I think we can discount the first option. I suspect it's a combination of the latter - playing that style is too mentally, emotionally and physically draining to sustain it for four quarters.

Very nervous .... but very prepared for the result.

This same afternoon 6 years ago .... Fremantle jumped us 4.2.26 to 0.2.2 .... then look what happened!
