Meet Up Adelaide Crows V The Cats. Anyone planning to go?

I spent a number of evenings at the Exeter and the Austral in Rundle Street when I was younger and lived in Adelaide.

Things have probably changed a bit since I last visited those establishments though.

Good thing about Adelaide, there are plenty of pubs around and everything is pretty close.

the words 'exeter hotel' and 'change' only end up near each other when the word 'doesnt' is between them...

ill be going to the game, i believe... i live in the city and would be happy to attend a meet up if there was one going.

Strangled Cat Moneypenny - are there any plans in place?

I was over there a fortnight ago for the Port game. The Strathmore Hotel was pretty good, though it got pretty packed. The Casino also has a quite a few good bars, & the ground is just over the walk bridge. The Little Pub on Hindley is just that - little, but has Fox & does good pubs meals & decently priced drinks without the craziness of most places along that road!

Not that I'm aware of. Kitty can't go, nor can many others who'd initially stated interest. On that matter, I'm not even sure if I can attend. I have a mate from work wanting to go with me, so if I go I'll be meeting him outside at Adelaide Oval. In any event, if I can make it to the game I will most certainly attend a meet-up. If The rabbi and catempire are going, and if yourself, myself and perhaps even Ms Moneypenny then it'd be a half reasonable turnout. I'll do my very best to make it to the game.

There are no "if"s about it. I will be there.

Cool mate. My son is hassling me to take him and since he didn't get to go to the Port game (I went straight from work in the city as it was a Friday night), I don't know if I'll get away with not taking him twice. So if I come, which is looking more and more likely (I still have to twist the folks-in-law's arm to look after my four year old daughter) then I'll be bringing the young fella. So, definitely no establishments that are T**ty bars for lunch!:p

Yes, he is! And I'm now going to the game. I spoke to the dad-in-law and he's going to babysit my daughter. I bought two tickets before I left work. Unfortunately there wasn't two seats next to each other, so GA is the go. There's far less seating in GA for Crows games than Port. :(

Hopefully the boys can get up your you and your little one.

Don't know if I will go to this as I thought we'd lose to Port then beat the Crows and now it's probably the other way around which just ruins the Port game completely for me - don't ask how. I'm just weird like that. If I do go and GA is your go, than this time I would definitely meet you if you want, might even bring my 3yo brother who is probably bigger than your boy.

I was going to suggest you all go to the 'Tap Inn' was a pub with a golf theme, had a bloody indoor driving range there!

But on googling it appears that it is no longer called that.

So The rabbi go to the Woolshed on Hindley after the game.... they have a mechanical bull!

I went there a few years ago. Bizarre but strangely awesome.

The woolshed or tap inn?

One of the funniest things I have ever seen was on the same boys weekend I mentioned earlier, we went to the tap inn, we got hammered... we went up to the driving range despite the 'intoxicated persons will not be allowed on driving range' sign... one of my mates decided after he ran out of ball to run onto the range and to start throwing balls back at us...

We were still hitting them off the self loading tees and he soon realised the error he had made.. :D

Tap Inn. It was in the middle of nowhere too. Had to get a cab out there.

It's a kids indoor play ground now. However, the Alma is just up the road from that place.

Mechanical bull went ages ago.
