Summary Hawthorn have won over the doubters with an exciting brand of football that has lifted them into the top two. Their powerful forward line and hard-working midfield are proving too much for most teams to handle, although tall forward Tim Boyle (hamstring) will be sorely missed. The Crows will have the advantage of their home ground but it's questionable if they have the personnel. And there are plenty of injury concerns for the Crows with Andrew McLeod, Simon Goodwin and Brent Reilly all under clouds.
Key A battle between Lance Franklin and Ben Rutten could well be match-defining.

Adelaide vs Hawthorn Rd:14 Saturday Night.

Must win game for the Crows.
Adelaide is the only club in the top eight that Hawthorn hasnt yet beaten.
Crows have named Brett Burton back in their team.
Possible matchups include: Campbell Brown-Brett Burton, Brad Sewell-Mark Riccuto, Shane Crawford and Andre McLeod could go head to head on Hawthorn's forward flank.
And the big question is, will Rutten or McGregor match up on Lance Franklin?

All thoughts are welcome.

Re: Adelaide vs Hawthorn Rd:14 Saturday Night.

I think it'll be McGregor. Rutten's good but is best in straight lines and might not have the agility off the line for Franklin. Having said that, maybe McGregor won't either!

Re: Adelaide vs Hawthorn Rd:14 Saturday Night.

If the Hawks can play with the intensity that they've had over the past 2 games, then I think that they are a very good chance. AAMI is a good ground to play on if you aren't afraid to run - those pockets are deep. Hawks have been running well.

I'm a bit worried that they could be a bit flat after the Pies game and that the Crows will be desperate to win this one.

With the injuries to the Crows, I'll stick my neck out and say Hawks by 18.

Another throw the hands in the air game imo.

I really dont know who will win , apart from admiring Hawthorns form and thinking all they have to do is replicate that and they will win. Then again the AFC will know they wont win a shootout so it will be ugly.

As long as ugly wins for the Crows and they get the 4 points.. I dont care

Hawks by 24 points or Crows by 7 points

I'm pretty nervous about this game to be honest.

We REALLY need to win to stay in the hunt.

As for the weather, there is a really strong breeze, and its going to be cold and wet.
