It fired up the Dees.

Ummm.....

Petracca said otherwise on TV yesterday.

 This. One of their players literally said it had NO effect on them.

If anything there was a very heavy chance that the Melbourne players may have seen that as their Captain flopping for a free kick and gone the other way. Reported? **** me.

Credit where it's due, they did not. And the rest is history.

In reality, 1st played 5th.

Not only that, 1st had a fully fit list and team pretty much (May's Jammie aside). They were rested up well.

5th had their best player with a dodgy knee, a few others limping a bit, and their FF not playing.

It probably played out exactly as it should have really.

Bulldogs have no ruck, Melbourne have the best.
Bulldogs have a lot of outside, uncontested type players like Smith, Hunter, JJ etc.

Melbourne shut them down by simply not allowing the Bulldogs midfield to get the pill.

Maybe it wasn't Melbourne being fired up from it, but rather a sign that the Dogs thinking they had the game under control?

I know kossie did not have direct scoreboard impact but at least 3 of his efforts led to goals , spargo goal in 1st q
And Brayshaws 3rd q goal and Tracs 3rd q dribble goal.
One sees a lot more watching the replay without stress :)

this… Havnt seen it mentioned, but in the third the ball popped off the pack and rather than go for the ball kozi checks the bulldogs player allowing Petracca to get his goal.

Lol, yeah right, as if he'd say we needed that to make us play better.

The facts are, 1 second before that incident dogs we're in control and 19pts up, it happened and 40 minutes later Melbourne had piled on 100pts.
Now its either a case of Melbourne were taking the piss for the entire 2nd qtr and first half of 3rd qtr, or they saw their leader get his head slammed into the deck and fired up.

Obviously you know best, apologies.

And while we’re busy Lol-ing at things like it’s 2004 and we’re on MSN, lol at ‘head slammed into the turf.’

So you are saying he lied and you know better?

Doesnt matter what i know, the facts are Melbourne showed no signs of kicking 100pts in the game never mind 100pts in the following 40 minutes.
If that incident wasnt the catalyst it was a case of Melbourne taking the piss and simply coincidence that it came moments before they kicked into gear.
Im finding it harder to understand why people dont want to acknowledge that it was the turning point.

Im not saying Max didnt contribute to the impact but the marks on his face tell the story. If thats what it took to get them going he did his job regardless of how it looked to those outside the arena.

Im saying talk is cheap, body language betrays it and kicking 100pts from that moment forward suggests it did something.

"Went down like a ragdoll" - yep, Melbourne were real fired up by the sounds of it

If you're looking for a catalyst, Harmes' one handed gather in a pack, run and 50m lace out pass to Fritsch is it for me. Amazing how little it's been talked about given it actually started the run of goals.

Viney charging that stoppage is what allowed Harmes to gather in space, as well as the pressure on Smith to drop the football.

The Daniel tackle wouldn’t have fired the team up at all. It definitely however had some influence on Gawn’s decision to rest forward and put Jackson in the ruck for the rest of the quarter (as seen in the subsequent throw-in when no free kick was paid) which is what turned the game. Maybe slamming his head on West Australian turf encouraged him to think local.

Finally gotten home from the game. Now for the big question - did the streaker end up on the broadcast? 😆

His mate filmed the whole run , he does a few good flips in the middle of the ground , he’s as fast as his cousin Olympian Peter Bol

The whole in his jocks happened when him mate put a lighter to them as he was ding the milk crate challenge

The pitch invader who ran onto the field at Optus Stadium wearing his holey jocks during the grand final has launched a fundraiser to help pay for his fine.
Abra Bol is facing a hefty financial penalty of up to $12,000 and a three-year ban from the stadium after he stripped down to his underwear, socks and sneakers before running on to the field at the final change of Melbourn’s historic win over the Western Bulldogs.
The 22-year-old — a cousin of Olympian Peter Bol — wore a black T-shirt with the word “security” while posting a video on social media before the stunt showing off what he claimed was his “whistle and fake ID”

Haha. Nice seeing him do some flippy shit for originality. I missed that part. By the time I noticed what everyone else in the crowd was laughing at, he was just about to be tackled by security.

Just a coupla piccies I took on the day...

This one was hours before the game, during the Under 19s match that WA won in the dying minutes...

This one is during the half-time break. Only about a third of those big-arsed glowsticks actually lit up. Fail...
