Dogs. Been in their corner all year and think their midfield depth will overwhelm the Dees, irrespective of how good Oliver and Petracca are- and they are very, very good.

Was thinking it at the time but am more convinced now- maybe they got something horribly wrong with their training regimen, loaded a bit thinking they were headed top 4 to unload finals and were very flat in the last few rounds. Pulled it back in the nick of time and are firing now.

Fingers crossed should be a cracker. Just wish it was next week.

Easton Wood alluded to a heavy training load a couple of weeks ago.

There's a lot of pressure on Stef to play out of his skin. Gawn and Jackson are the best ruck duo in the competition and we need to try and keep English forward as much as we can.
We may even roll the dice with only two talls in defence again and hope our rebound counters the extra couple of goals we give up.

Still hurting but no doubt the best two teams for the year.

Nothing to do with last night but I’d like Melbourne to win just off their 50 year drought
Yeah if we have to lose a GF you'd want it to be Big Maxy holding the cup giving a shout out to Daniher.

Both times these two teams played this year it was 1v2! Unfortunately both times without crowds. One win each. Gawn All Australian captain and Bont AA vice captain. Oliver and Bont equal favourites for Brownlow. Both were on top for nearly the whole year. Let’s hope it’s a ripper.
So nervous already. No idea how I'm going to survive two weeks.

EDIT

Over on the Melbourne board we have set up a best cheese platter competition that is open to all of BigFooty. Come over and show of your grand final spread!!

Western Bulldogs will win. Midfield depth is prevalent and they have a style that is incredibly overwhelming. Their midfield will out run us after half time I feel. May under an injury cloud does not help. They get the ball outside so quickly and their skills are prolific.

Beverage is probably the best game day coach and is able to draw blood from a stone. Phenomenal insight into the game. I don’t think Melbourne has the depth to go with them. Clearly Geelong and Port are easy beats and bar a scare against Brisbane, the WB have put that behind them.

WB just a better side. 5-6 goal win.

You are such a doomer mate.

Our midfield is better, forwardlines roughly even, Melborune has a better defence and a much better ruck division.
Neighter team's supporters will be confident.

Midfield is all that matters these days. Win the middle, win the game. You have depth and if you get first hands to the ball you’ll bury us. Our best chance is hitting you as hard as possible in tackling pressure and intensity all game, but I just think you’ve hardened up a lot since our last encounter and you’re great at shifting the ball around to advantage.

Just think we will hold it together but eventually be overcome. 30-45 point win.

I feel good about MCC w***ers missing out
It’s a national competition so I don’t personally care about it being in Perth. It’s not the VFL anymore. The GF should be rotated every year. Victoria still has an unhealthy parochial attitude towards the MCG and football in a general sense.

Replace the Western Bulldogs with Geelong, and this is what you were saying last week. I hope you're wrong again.

All the talk will be of how good Oliver and Petracca are, Maxy, Lever & May - but the danger man for us is Brayshaw. His ability to cut off the switch is probably the best in the compeition and in the first game this year he was outstanding regardless of what the stats say. We simply have to make him accountable and take his influence out of the game.

I genuinely thought Geelong had it in them this year, fire in the belly after missing out for so long after contending. Was very surprised they capitulated. Big issues at KP.

WB clearly a different beast. Midfield depth is far too strong.

This is easily my fave neutral GF in years!

1. heavyweight feel of the clear best two in it, can't complain AT ALL
2. two teams I'm very amenable to CAN BANDWAGON BOTH!!!
Icing: neither team has made the GF in the last four years

I don't think I've ever experienced a GF like that before! Often you have 1 OR 2, but rarely both at once (and no second teams involved). I've wanted this GF since the early rounds

Have you ever picked Melbourne to win?

Two concerns with Melbourne:
1) who will handle Naughton in the air and
2) if Ben Brown has a poor game , are there enough others to step up?
Not concerned about the midfield battle, Melbourne have the firepower there.
Expect Gawn and Jackson to dominate again.
