I am told that Blues side yet to be decided.

Martin appeal to come
Not convinced on Jack as hasn't played and knee isn't 100%. Kennedy similar

Feel is we will only go in with 100% fit players. Option could well be TDK forward with Charlie surrounded by smalls

Apparently some discussion about adding some more run

Not a bad call re more run, as I think we missed Hollands run the longer the game went.

I think Jack will play, and Kennedy a decent chance as well.

I think most likely Jack and motlop come in for Martin and McKay, and Dow sub.

This shapes as a real 50-50 game and most likely a close low scoring slugfest, like the last time we played them.

On one hand we are minus Martin from the last time we played them, but gain Cerra, Walsh and Gov.

Melbourne lose VR, brayshaw and Melksham but gain Fritsch.

I’ll stick my neck out and predict Carlton by 11 points.

Melbourne will bounce back. Melbourne should have won the last time they played Carlton as the petracca goal was a goal. Petracca, gawn, Oliver and Viney to dominate. Blues will be leading by 9pts at 3qtr time then Melbourne will come from the clouds to kick 4 goals to 1 in the last qtr to win by 10 pts
Gawn got pansted by Pittonet last time.

Gawn certainly didn't have his usual impact around the ground. Odd definition of 'pantsed' though.

For all the talk about our forward line and bombing it in people seemed to bed ignoring the fact that Melbourne missed simple set shots in the last quarter.

Fritsch missed a sitter, McDonald missed a sitter and Kosi just slammed the ball on boot without a second look.

We generated enough good quality shots at goal but failed to convert them.

Straight sets for the Dees unfortunately. Carlton momentum(remind me on Dees 2018) and Dees like last year with injury concerns and a forwardline chock full of bog average players. Just can't kick enough goals. I think GWS a real big chance in the other game as well. But i think Lions and Pies will destroy whoever they play against in the prelim anyway.

Yep, that’s why I’m not buying the dees can’t score line.

Only had themselves to blame for not winning as should have been enough just from the shots they actually had on goal. Scoreboard doesn’t reflect the dominance either as didn’t score from about 6 other shots

Shame the focus has been taken off a great game this week. Hopefully by Thursday normality has returned and this game gets the credit it deserves. I hate saying this and Carlton fans will probably hate me saying it more but I hope Carlton absolutely destroys Melbourne.

I'd suggest Carlton's focus has been all on this game, while Melbourne has been distracted, been a good week for the Blues so far and they'll be hoping for an appeal

Carltons appeal against Jack Martin's 2 week ban for striking, should have been quickly dismissed by the AFL. Its farcical that this decision is even under review.
If Carlton further win their appeal against the ban then the current MRP system should be thrown out. It shows that the current appeal process contains as much merit and integrity as the OJ Simpson trial. Martin struck a guy in the jaw, nowhere near where the ball was being played and nowhere near the motion of spoiling. It's an open shut case in my view and shows the AFL are more scared of Carltons lawyers then the integrity of the competition.
How did your open and shut case work out for you ?
Maybe next time , take a really deep breath before posting, and perhaps the rose coloured glasses as well.

Do you think we will ever see the word blueshakes on a collingwood banner , much like the word colliwobbles have appeared on an oppos banner ? Just asking for a friend
Tell your friend there are other threads for that, it was old mate Thrawn who brought it up, I'm just here to talk about this game

With Melbourne distracted and Gawn's broken foot I'm switching to Carlton by 15 points

Both sides will be going into Fridays clash evens Stevens irrespective of any players carrying injuries .
Gawn , Oliver, cripps will all be jabbed up and ready to go

I didnt get the news. So I take it Jack Martin is cleared to play Melbourne then? Congratulations on a sterling defense.

You saying Melbourne is distracted doesn't make it true, also Gawn doesn't have a broken foot.
