It wasn’t even just that he moved a player back too early, Fagan looked visibly rattled pacing around the coaches box in the final minutes (not for the first time either). Surely your leaders should be trying to keep an air of calm and a cool head in a crisis.
It’s not often you can see what a coach does or doesn’t do to impact the game.

Fagan made a horrendous call then sat back and watched it unfold instead of trying to rectify.

The Bears were fire in that third quarter and while they slowed in that first ten minutes of the last, they were still well in control. He fueled the slight momentum the Demons had at the time.

In the end I don't think the result changes much. They were going to finish 3rd and 4th anyway but it gives some momentum to Melbourne and mentally a huge loss for the Lions
I think it’s too far out from finals to be a big mental loss.

We had a similar loss to Richmond last year and didn’t affect us come finals time.

After seeing Max Gawn single handedly resurrect the Dees back from the dead I can't see how Brodie "Premierships Don't Define me" Grundy gets back in.

I do wonder about Fagan as he’s been in charge for a while now and presents exactly the same way in every crisis, as if he has no idea and I think he doesn’t!!

Typical. Boundary umpire throws it straight to the advantage of player, who rugby passes it to his mate. Umpires do nothing. Commentators say nothing. Oh, that's right, it's the commentator's nephew. No bias here.
Happens 10+ times a game lol

No team is winning a premiership with the Big O as their ruck, horrific ruckman.

Oscar isn't their problem

it’s just good to see all of the Melbourne supporters who were here in Q1 but disappeared for Q2-4 back and celebrating the good win! Welcome back!
That's definitely me. I was ready for the full rebuild. We still played like trash for the majority of the game defensively which is a massive concern.

Oliver and Fritsch need to come back asap.

That was criminal from Brisbane. Had the better of Melbourne for most of the game from QT onwards yet went into their shell and defensive mode way, way too early. Pretty poor from Fagan and the senior players.

That said, I had some betting interest on Melbourne/over and somehow also on Lions +2.5. Can’t remember the last time something like that landed so will have a whisky and cheers to both teams 🥃

Judd mcVee did so well on Charlie Cameron. 2 goals but kept him to only 7 touches or so. great young accountable player.

Stinger my brother you’re not smart enough for this don’t do it, don’t do it
Let me have my moment bro

I thought we were done.
