It's a bit of banter but you might well be right.

We don't want GWS in there tomorrow though....haha.

Ok, just checked. GWS 50/50 being in Sydney, Dogs heading to Adelaide to play Port, another 50/50. GC playing North, so they could be the one's in.

Anyway, good win.
Port play Bulldogs, so one of them will
go above. Suns play North, so they’ll probably go above. Lions play Crows at home = Collingwood out of the 8.

Not a Merrett fan but he willed them home tonight
Why would you need to emphasise that you’re not a fan? He’s the sort of player who should draw admiration from all neutrals. Weird take.

Yes, been mentally hard to the Pies for 3 years with all those comebacks. Mentally catching up now. Still, they have their flag. Brissie haven't been that convincing compared to other years but in such a weak year it could well be enough for top 4.

As a Carlton supporter I pray for those 3rds and 4ths....haha.
Yes Brisbane haven't been convincing so far this year. Unfortunately the premier is the best team in September not necessarily throughout the year. Whilst current form suggests they don't do much if they make it, they're a dangerous side if it clicks. Exact same reason Fremantle aren't a flag threat (haven't shown consistently good form to suggest they'll win at least 3 games in a row against top sides) but all sides would be wary of playing them as their best beats anyone.

essendon have to travel once in their last 12 games of the season. in the last round. im tempted to make a thread on how disgraceful that is
How about 5 times in the first 12?

They do have Freo, Sydney and Brisbane 3 of the last 4 games. They do need to beat Melbourne next week very badly. good win tonight though.

As for Collingwood, they look done. Won 3 of their last 7, two of them very narrow, umpire assisted goals against North and Adelaide at the 'G. They had to do it from 54pts down against North. They applied little pressure tonight and just didn't look hungry, which happens to premiership teams. They'll likely be out of the 8 at the end of the weekend. Means Essendon still would not have beaten anyone currently in the 8 if that happens....lol. To be fair 2 of their wins were against sides in the 8 at the time, although they are ending up turning to shit.
Except... the two teams most likely to come in are Bulldogs and GWS, who we have beaten, so

How can Merret be below N. Daicos in the Brownlow predictor?
Who takes votes of Daicos from Collingwood. Merrett will poll in more games but he won't have as many 3 vote games. Merrett wins Essendon's best and fairest by a landslide through being consistently in the best 3 players for Essendon but Stringer, Durham and Martin take 3 votes off him for a few games. People tend to remember the standout obvious 3 vote performances so players like Merrett that are consistently good can get overlooked.

Perhaps people will start to understand what random actually is how it all reverts to the mean eventually.
Can you re write that sentence?

It’s making me seasick reading it over and over.

Or does it just need a simple comma?

Merrett used to go chasing possessions behind the ball which looks good on the stat sheet but doesn’t help the side move the ball. Not doing it as much this season.
True. A lot of those possessions though were handballs to a player to get 1 back to make a 20 metre kick sideways. He'd have 3 touches in a chain but do nothing with them. This is what I was getting at with my previous comment but probably didn't explain well enough. He's still working defensively to get possessions in defensive 50 but is now making smarter decisions and backing himself to execute the release kick / handball out of defensive 50 so his possessions have more hurt.
