Wow, to think that 44 players can run around like mad dogs covering hundreds of kms under tackling pressure for 30 minutes, and an umpires can make that decision for the softest free kick initiated by the “victim” and give a goal away.

That one reminds me of the free kick Stevic gave against Port Adelaide in the second quarter of the 2014 prelim against Hawthorn. Along with our wastefulness in front of goal, a bull**** decision like that turned the momentum completely.

As a neutral watching this game, seriously, heck AFL footy.

Just not enjoying this woke, soft bullshit anymore.

Woke? Man, chuds and cookers just insert that word anywhere these days regardless of the context. Lmao.

AFL needs to start again with the umpiring.
Make it a defined career path for recently retired players.
Enough of these part timers who have never played a game, and have no feel whatsoever for a combative sport.
I seriously wonder whether the STH American betting cartels have infiltrated the umpiring department…some of the decisions are blatant corruption.

Could our game be officiated any poorer than it currently is? On what planet should that act merit a shot on goal 100 metres away from where it occurred?
They need a better solution for those situations.

Maybe the umpire notes it and if the ball does end up kicked to Amiss (or at least one kick down the line), then you let his opponent have the free kick. Sort of like offside in football, a "let it play out" system where the infringers team would still not be able to score. But the opposition don't get a shot at goal 100m ahead of the incident.

Umpiring quality at an all time low

I said the same thing last night, the umpires are ignoring blatant free kicks and paying soft free kicks, it should be the opposite.
