Well, we know who isn’t clutch for Sydney
As a Sydney supporter I'm disappointed that McDonald missed the shot but he's not the Sydney forward that deserves the criticism. How many goals did Amartey leave behind because he hesitated / second guessed himself and put himself under more pressure or the Saints were able to shut down the option. You don't make 100% of the shots you don't take. I'd rather McDonald take the responsibility and miss than pass the buck like Amartey and other players did. It's not like there was a free option he ignored. Any pass option was just as likely to fail.

If the takeaway from that for the Sydney coaches box is to criticise McDonald for missing instead of other players who made multiple mistakes because they didn't want to work hard, panicked or were arrogant then there's bigger issues than 2 losses in 2 weeks. For example, McInerney having a shot touched on the line because he didn't kick through the ball. Good coaches show Howard's effort to save a goal, excellent coaches show McInerney's kick followed by Howard's effort as the brilliant effort doesn't happen without the arrogant mistake.

Hardly. Heeney swung his hand back below his own shoulder line. He clearly was not aiming for the head and had no way of knowing the St Kilda player was that low.
Jack Higgins got suspended for 3 weeks for not accounting for his opponent's unpredictable actions

No supporter base deserves that result more than Sydney.

Your club isn’t an underdog interstate battler, it is looked after more than any club in the league. The AFL needs the Swans to be good.

Most importantly, your season so far will mean absolutely nothing if you don’t win the flag. No one will remember anything if you don’t win it all.

You were beaten by a team that genuinely outworked you, and outshone by a few of the Saints’ A-Grade youngsters at key moments. The Saints have plenty of work to do when it comes to its midfield, but it’s not far off.

That's the other reason Sydney wont win. The MCG is their kyrptonite.

They should have belted the Bulldogs and Cats in 16/22.

The Hawks out bullied them, The Bulldogs out pressured them and the Cats just out right flogged them.

2012 feels like 30 years ago for them.

For the last decade they have crumbled when it's mattered, It's irrelevant how good they are before September.

Yeh, really shyte that the Umps only gave the Swans 19 Frees to the Saints 11. How unfair.

And how did the umps miss pinging Webster for assaulting Heeney's fist with his face.
If the umpires had paid the free for Webster grabbing hold of Heeney, it wouldn't have happened either. Heeney was being held almost the entire match. And the Saints players were very lucky not to give away multiple 50m's for running through the protected zone.

It's okay lads. No matter what the ladder may say the best team isnt the most consistent team, the best team is the team whoever wins the games that matter, whoever wins the finals matches and whoever wins the grand final. 2014 we weren't that team, 2016 we weren't that team, 2022 we weren't that team. Lord knows we are that team this year though. Loss to richmond? Doesn't matter. Loss to Freo? Doesn't matter when we were 3 games clear and had shown we could beat them already. Loss to Saint Kilda? Doesn't matter when we are still 2 games clear. No other team has cleared through the competition like us, no other team this year will.

Take your blinkers off. You can say exactly the same about instances with Swans players. Plenty of scragging and running through protected zones.

What we do know is that Swans had a clear free kick advantage, and what we also know is that virtually all the latter free kicks went to the Swans.

Bleating that you were somehow done over badly by the umpires is just farcical.

Umpires never get all the decisions correct as too many decisions are subjective, and so will miss some to either team. But the Swans have been "free kick" victims is just a laughable concept.

Go back and read the comments of the neutral team posters in this thread.

Classy first post.

Not defensive at all, great start......modest.

I would be criticising Papley before MacDonald, it wasn't even a point.
