Hope not. It's still better to get (minor) injuries now while well on top of the ladder, than in round 23 or week 1 of finals.

Most of them should be back for finals. Match fitness could be questionable for some, but only if they are 5-6 week injuries.
Gets a bit to close for comfort this time of year for that very reason. Mills and McVeigh were disastrous 2016 finals.

Yep 3 of our starting best 23 out including the Captain and 3 rotations down for near on 3 qtrs and got beat by 2 points after kicking 2.6 in the 3rd qtr and icing the game. Brisbane in form playing for their life. Yep we're faltering. Enjoy your preseason.

Sydney aren't the only team with best 23 players out...

Wasn't Sydney only down one rotation? Hayward limping around but I thought he was still very good with 10 disposals and 2.2 or so in the second half.

Third quarter I agree with though. Could've iced the game in the third quarter, though Lions also converted poorly too.

You severely overrate Brisbane, who have been scratching by in a lot of games against so-so opposition.

They're getting the job done but have only had a few genuinely impressive performances this season.
With the competition as even as it is, getting the job done is more important than ever.

I don't disagree with you though.

Yeah it definitely wasn't intended as a take down of Brisbane or anything, who are now a really good shot at top 4 and who knows from there.

More that some neutrals (more than Brisbane supporters) have really gotten behind the narrative of Brisbane as an extremely high functioning team. In this season, who knows, maybe you don't have to that high functioning to take it home.

I'm merely pointing out that Sydney are not invincible my Sydney Swan friend. And a win against the side that's on the lower end of the ladder doesn't quite paper over the cracks.
You defend all your shit takes on the Swans with this old chestnut. Nobody thinks they are invincible in fact they are really fallible. Injuries now along with the inability to put sides to the sword with shit finishing when they are dominating recognises that. Your dislike of Sydney is blatantly obvious which is fine but ffs play a new record because this one is scratched to the shit.

Quite remarkable reading some comments on other threads claiming that the bounce of the ball went our way all day long.

It was quite literally the opposite. Sydney were getting the flukey bounces, taking ridiculous one-handed marks that they've never done before, and kicking goals from tough spots. Jake Lloyd is capable of kicking it 55m? Even their fans were shocked.

Happy to sink the boot into umpires when it suits the agenda, but Swans supporters very quiet when talking about the non-mark by Rayner or the clear front on to Daniher in that last quarter. Margin flattered Swans to be honest. Got dominated apart from a 2nd quarter blitz where Lions didn’t turn up.

Yeah you are right, there wasn’t a single missed call or bad call against the swans, but hundreds against the Lions. You guys should have won by 30 goals if there was any justice.

You can't be too mad if you're a Sydney supporter. Lost just 4 games for a collective 10 points.

Will be interesting to see how they deal with injuries now given they've been blessed until this point on that front in 2024.
We didn’t have two of last years captains available until rd 17.
McCartin & Rampe mussed a few games early but we gave been going along ok on the injury front. Fell short today but I guess injuries happen to all teams.
Let’s see how we can deal with these missing players against some tough teams

Mate if you think that was a mark to Rayner go back to watching bocce because you have NFI. Enjoy your win because you won’t beat us again even if it’s played on ****ing moon.

Yeah/nah.

Had plenty of chances to put a larger score up in the 3rd quarter
You got 1 goal 4 behinds, we kicked 2 goals 6 behinds.
You were outplayed throughout the 3rd quarter as well we failed to make the most of our chances.

We were always under the pump being 2 players down before halftime and Hayward basically playing on 1-leg.

You only put the winning goal through with 2 minutes of game time left, so "dominated apart form a 2nd quarter blitz"
Nope

Well no you weren’t, you said the Swans were in “free fall”.

Well they're not in very good form at present, dropping games left right and center. They might drop to second if they don't snap out of it!!!

Your dislike of Sydney is blatantly obvious which is fine but ffs play a new record because this one is scratched to the shit.

Touchy touchy

I've tipped the Swans to win many times over the years. No vendetta here. You're seeing things that just aren't there. There's an ignore button, use it.

Have a nice day xox
