Fraser will be back this week. Blake might win a few taps, but will get smashed around the ground. Just as he did as recently as round 3 this year. '0' touches, from memory. If you add to this the fact that Ottens is running @ 75-80%, then Fraser could cause a lot problems.

Enter Mummy. He may loose a few taps, but he is every chance of nullifying Fraser around the ground.

The cats need to get the score on the board, unlike the second quarter in the dogs game all the effort for not many goals like the crows second quarter.mummy could be a chance for this game a and stevie j would damm great.some of there"(pies) players have been down on form but after that get out of jail win they could bounce back to some kind of form but l hope they are stuffed.go cats get up you good things

Traveling over with my father (for his bday) and I am a fully paid up Adult Home 11 member. Would like to use my membership to acquire a ticket tomorrow before general public. If there are any members who are not using their membership or not attending the game, all help would be appreciated. Thanks catters.

Jose in Adelaide :)

I hate colonwood for all the usual reasons but also because for the past 5 years they inexplicably have this annoying knack of pulling something of their stinking filthy arse-holes when they play us.

I hope the match against the crows took a lot out of them and don't offer much resistance this Saturday night. I don't want my heart in my mouth again like 2 years ago.

The thought of losing a prelim is bad enough but the ignominy of losing to the ferals could put me in a deep state of depression that could take me weeks to recover from. :(

Slaughter them catters, we cannot let evil personified triumph and progress further in the finals. Geelong must prevail for the sake of all that's good in this world. :thumbsu:

I reckon it's going to be a real battle we've got on our hands come Saturday night. You can never really dismiss the friggen Pies. They love it best when they're up against it. However if we play at our very best we SHOULD account for them -we've won a few this year when OUR backs were to the wall as well.

the pies lack class at the top end and always seem to have trouble with some of our A grade players.

chapman, johnson, ottens, ablett, selwood and scarlett give them nightmares.

we should be confident that we are playing a side that we have the wood over:thumbsu:

the key is to make sure we play our A game for 4 full quarters and make sure we take our chances up forward and this could be a very big win.

I reckon of all the selection dilemmas, the ruck will be the most critical to the outcome of the match. Ottens almost single handedly won the '07 prelim for us in the absence of Fraser (and to all the Stokes critics - his 3 early goals proved invaluable). This year, in the absence of Ottens, Fraser ran riot. Now while Mark Blake did well with hit-outs, Fraser was most dominant when Blake was on him. West may have registered no possessions, but in my opinion put the brakes on Fraser's influence. I wonder if the selection panel will even consider Mumford?

On other issues, I wouldn't be relying on Collingwood's fatigue - they are a fit side and normally pull up well. The other factor is the Collingwood crowd - they are intimidating and are worth another body on the ground for them. That said, I am quietly confident that a focused Geelong side will win provided they come to play and do not under-estimate this Collingwood side.

Yup, i repeat again...Collingwood are not a skillful side. They are simply not. Its not to say they aren't good (they have ticker), but from what i have seen of them this year they pretty much revolve around trying to slow the game down to scrap it out on their level. Adelaide compeletly bamboozled collingwood first quarter - well first half really, and it was simply through dire grit that the Pies snuck back in there..... Adelaide pretty much mimick our gamestyle except that they don't have the ability to pull it off under pressure like we (usually do).

Was very interested in Adelaides tactic of bombing the ball a bit longer to get over Collingwoods flood of defensive players...worked well, for awhile! Condsidering Adelaides forward make up is quite similar to ours, it might be a plan B or C option.

Back to Blake...yup, think he is a key player this week. What Adealide demonstrated was that you win the tap against the Pies and 90/100 you will win the clearance. Blake will win taps - and to me that translates in winning clearances. Mummy would be serviceable around the ground, but at best we could only hope for a break even with Wood or Fraser. Think Blake will get the gig and deservedly so this week....

Don't get me wrong, this has the potential to be another Collingwood defensive bore fest if we don't bring the skills, but if we put ourselves in a position like Adelaide and force the Pies to abandon there defenses and go for attack - we won't be seeing a comeback like what happened last night.

Cats by 56 pts!

As a Cats fan living in Adelaide, and watching the game last night, it was truely shattering for everyone i was watching the game with. At least they will all be going for the Cats with me this week.

The game was tough for the Pies and it will take a toll on them. But you can't underestimate them and they will be fired up. They have an uncanny ability to get up when it counts, but havn't been able to capitalise on the Premiership yet.

Make no mistake, they will be pumped and they will take it right up to the Cats. We will have to be at our best to account for them I think. If Chapman is firing, and Johnos there, I think we will be too hard for the Magpies to beat.

GO CATS!!!

There is no way you guys are going to beat us on Sat.

We're coming off one of our best wins in a long time, and with all our kids firing, we're going to wipe the floor with all your old farts.

(and we've got the wood over you)

RD 2008 (Collingwood 20.14 134 dft Geelong 7.6 44)

GO PIES!!!!!

I like your confidence. Give it your best shot. :D But your form from a Round 9 game in 2008 is hardly an indicator for this game. But whatever gets you through the night:rolleyes:

If one more deranged Collingwood fan references a 2008 H&A win as conclusive evidence of them having the 'Wood over us i will shoot someone...

Seriously, the Pies are an average team hanging on to September action by a thread. If we don't pulverise them we simply don't deserve to win the premiership, nor even be listed in the AFL. Can not see any one of Travis Cloke, Paul Medhurst, Anthony Rocca, John Anthony, Leigh Brown, Leon Davis even remotely threatening our backline.....

FFS, just take a look at the NAB cup final again....it was embarrassing how much better we are - Just can't for the life of me see how Collingwood could possibly cover Selwood, Ablett, Bartel and Corey in the midfield with the likes of Didak, Swan, O'Bree, and geez, who else...Dale Thomas????

I will be sorely dissapointed if we don't win by at least 100

Who are your kids "firing?"

Sidebottom had a good game last night but most of the rest of them were pretty ordinary. Wood could have cost you the match with some very soft efforts in the fourth quarter, and if Anthony hadn't kicked that last minute goal there'd be real questions asked about his ability to perform in finals after two terrible games in a row.

I have to be honest their is not alot about collingwood that worry me.they are a good side but is their honestly anything about them thay you think we will have trouble with ?

they work hard, will apply alot of pressure but the truth is we will do exactly the same plus we have the extra ability.

play well as a team and take our chances and we will win.By prelim final standards this is an easy game that is ours to lose. much better playing the pies than the dogs or saints:thumbsu:

Do I detect a bit of anxiety?

their will always be some anxiety in a prelim no matter who you are and who you play , all 4 sides will be anxious. that being said the realitly is that we are confident this week.

we have a better side on paper than the pies
we have had a better season than the pies
we have had the pies measure of recent times as we have won 4 of the last 5 games against them

no reason to not be confident , being nervous and confident is a great thing that will make us play at a high intensity :)

cant wait :thumbsu:
