How many clearances by George? He did some good stuff.

No idea - I'm not bagging GHS (well at least not intentionally), but we were playing a team that relies heavily on outside speed. Surely a bloke as slow as GHS would fare batter coming on when the pace is out of the game?.. Even still, why not put Murdoch - who was rumoured to have hamstring issues - as the sub? We have no one in the forward 50 that seems determined to pressure the opposition defenders - McCarthy is that guy IMO.

Too many passengers. Horlin-Smith, Stokes, Guthrie, Duncan, Murdoch, Motlop were terrible for most of the game.

Yep totally agree. Just not enough of the footy. The disposal going into the forward line was atrocious as well.

Kelly is clearly done. It was only when the pace went out of the game that he came into it. I have grave concerns over Mackie too. Stokes - back to his form of a few years back where he does SFA.

Said it last week, and not surprisingly around here the resident morons abused me for it. He is finished. They could have played an actual small defender in Bews - one with hunger, pace, and desperation - but no that's not the Geelong way. Better to protect a premiership player and ignore reality.

Someone needs to give Guthrie a kick up the arse. I was told from someone within the club that he is arrogant and has tickets on himself. He needs to have a reality check and get back to the player he was earlier this year. Get rid of that excuse for a haircut for a start.

Guthrie has gone from someone I had 100% confidence in with the ball to being pretty wary of now. A lot of lazy mistakes have crept into his game. Hopefully he can refocus and get over that. Still young enough.

You're kidding right? You can't knock him for his effort. Battled well. Not a number 1 ruck...just curious who would you have gone with this week?
Blame the recruiters before Blitz, it's not his fault he was our last option. Sour grapes much.
No. I thought he was ok.
Just. Just.

Apparently though he was going to run goldy off his feet.
Didn't happen!

Hunger is the kind of crap you harp on about when you can't think of anything to say about real football - eg. game plans, execution and results.

Agreed hunger was no factor tonight.

Poor coaching and skill execution was-look how many goals we gave up ftom turnovers.geelong teams didnt previously do that in finals.

Made an interesting point on K-Rock before - we got within a goal despite not having a recognised ruckman, SJ and Bundy out injured and one less rotation off the bench for the last quarter.

While the first three quarters were ordinary, you need to put things into perspective sometimes.

I thought Duncan was mostly poor with a smattering of talented play. Very sad for his 100th.
Most of the boys were stuffed. Would've liked to have seen a bit more rolling rotations on resting them all for maybe one more game.

I have to disagree with you on Duncan. I thought he ran his guts out and got plenty of the ball over 4 quarters. We all see it differently though.

Whoever won would have be smashed by 10 goals next week.

Let's go and get a ruckman.

Even better get TWO! Can't rely on EITHER of the ones we have to be fit when we need them have had enough of their ####ing shit.

Would be even better of we then get Frawley then piss a few of the dinosaurs in our defense off and perhaps the disinterested Stokes.

Yeah. I agree- they were my thoughts for wanting him as sub. But we were short a midfielder so he pretty much had to play.
I'll check clearances in a few minutes.

And yes- Murdoch or Mots, once I'd seen what little impact they made, would've been better choices

We could just get one who isn't injury problem. HMAC had a history of injuries. Was a disaster waiting to happen.

Who was the 1 less rotation?

Who's our next A grade midfielder? On tonight's evidence, it's Caddy. Let's hope he makes the leap as soon as next season.

Caddy will be a gun.funny enough the whole bay i was in was roasting the coaches in first quarter for having him in the goalsquare, Gysenn was the only bloke who didnt seem to be!
