If Grundy does play i hope we sub him off, he is carrying a tonne of weight and a really high work load, already had a back stress fracture we don't want to over work him again

The like was for your sig, very nice, I encourage you to post with that on the essendon board

Yeah but just the fact that it is the last round, our first final is a few days after and Goldstein would be very tough for him, I could see him getting a break.

I see where you are coming from 94, but winning form is good form.
On top of this we have had an unsettled side for the majority of the year and continuity with team selection in recent weeks has been a bonus.
If Grundy is truly sore then rest him, if not play him and allow a quality player that may take his place to play in our reserves elimination final this week. It may be the difference between winning and losing a final?

we're basically not playing for anything other than a training run. not point ruining ourselves, risking injury for 4 points

Great point's BBB, however are we playing that well that we can afford to gamble with form?
We require all the form and confidence we can muster leading into the finals.

We also should test ourselves against the best side out of the 8 in North in the opinion of many.
This will assist in ironing out any possible weakness and as a result we can continue to improve and enable us to make the greatest impact possible during the finals.

Bartel said on SEN radio today that the Pies could be the first to win the Grand Final outside the 4 since the 2000 finals system was introduced.
He said we're building and building and getting it together at the right time.
We hate you cause of 2011 GF Bartel but ty for the opinion. =)

Beams in for Ball, as expected, Didak gets another game too.:)

@AFL_PKeane: Final Sunday teams:
Coll v NM:
Interchange; Didak, Beams, Kennedy, Seedsman.
Emergencies; Russell, Hudson, Martin. Beams in for Ball.

Very strong side. Selection will be interesting next week if they win well. Elliot and Sinclair would have to be nervous with being out of the side at this stage of the year.

Elliot comes straight in for mine. He's our best small forward by a country mile!
Elliott and Bally are the only 2 who'd come straight back in. I'd loved to have gotten a few more games into Clinton Young but appears just ran out of time.

I like what Sinkers has done from defence but prefer Seedsmans offensive capabilities over Sinkers defensive tenacity and speed from the backhalf.

Horses for courses. We would need Sinclair against Freo or even Geelong to cover Ballantyne/Walters and Motlop/Christensen.

But for Port, yeah probably not as necessary.

Elliot's become a bit of a favorite but I'd prefer to see more defensive work from him.
Bit annoyed Dwyer is named at fwd - I'd prefer to see him back up the ground a bit. He might not be the quickest, he's not brilliant overhead but I think he's possibly our best deliverer into the 50 - just really creative. Balls a worry being out, there will be a lot of pressure on Blair. Hope they go light on Grundy we need him in the finals if we're any chance.

Grundy vs Goldstein be a Very Intresting Match Uo.

I tipped Pies by 40 pts

interesting call, will come down to if this game means anything, if the game means nothing 40 points possible, if finals are on the line , north's biggest loss this year is 16 points..hard to see that changing, i'm sure you guys would prefer a training run rather than one teams elimination final the week before the finals start....

No, I'd prefer a tough hard game in preparation for the finals. Some of our kids will only benefit from getting a taste of whats to come.
Sydney had one of the toughest final months prior to finals footy in 2012 and it certainly didn't hurt their campaign.

Besides there is the added bonus of seeing Carlscum under Mick miss out on the 8.

You ignoring the 39-point loss to Sydney and the 38-point loss to Freo? :p

North are an "Etihad Specialist" team, really they are. They grow an extra leg at that ground and could potentially beat Collingwood. But at the MCG (which this game will be played) North aren't so good.

Our Riuchmond supporting friend may want to recall that iyr last two games at the MCG saw us lose to Hawthorn by 2 points and roll the Tiges.

We can play the G no problem. And if the weather stays nice, we can freally play the G.

Does anyone have any insight into why Krak is not playing and the severity of Elliott's hammy (strain slight tear etc)?

Good luck boys:thumbsu:
