Strange selection the Menzel one. He is allegedly injured, and that makes sense. He is a gun and if fit should not be an emergency. This team doesn't look great on paper. Annoyed Christensen is out. I suspect this will be a lot closer than most think, IF we in fact win.

Unusually I'm in the VEEDUBS camp with this one. I reckon it will be a bit closer than most expect. Their team doesn't look to shabby on paper and they should be pretty fired up for their first game at the new ground. By comparison our team without Ottens, Enright and Taylor looks a bit vulnerable.

Maybe Scarlo a late withdrawal? Hard to see him want to travel for this unless he wants to stick it up GAJ, which I suspect a few do. Not with malice but just to prove a point.

yep, this is an insulting team and reminds of the shit team we played against lions in 2009 and got smashed. gc are no push over and have won at least a quarter most weeks. I expect a GC memorable win at their new home ground with a special performance by ablett like brennan did against lions.

We've got less changes than the Lions game you refer to, and they're all forced. If they really weren't taking it seriously they'd rest another 3 or 4 players which they could justifiably do as I have no doubt there are that many guys carrying something (injury/niggle/etc). Ottens and Taylor clearly looked last week like they needed a break, and Christensen is concussed. If you think that, plus Enright, is an insulting team, then you're seriously misjudging what insulting is.

And, we have a team in the team we have listed for sat, that is more than good enough to win. And we will.

The fact that I'm reading some Cats posters saying they're a chance to lose is truly surprising to me. Cats will win this in a canter. They'd have to drop the ball (haw haw) pretty badly for us to get up, even with the outs and ins. But that's alright. It's not about winning so much for us. More just to rate ourselves and where we stand against the current best team in the league. To run out and play out on our home ground. It's what most of us have been waiting for for ages.

Anyway, the point of this post! Apparently there are no places near Metricon to get your beer on. No pubs or anything nearby. It is, quite literally, in the middle of no-where. Your best bet would be to hit up a place in Nerang, and then catch a shuttle from there.

It's only vulnerable if they aren't switched on. If they're serious, there's more than enough talent and experience to get the job done.

Get on top early, establish ascendancy, then put the foot down and destroy. Definitely dish out some heavy tackles too, we have to make the physical advantage count.

This isn't the time for sentiment, as percentage could be important later in the year.

Just because a player is listed 1st in the emergencies doesn't mean he'll be the inclusion if there is a late withdrawal.They're not going to bring in Gillies if a player like Bartel,Kelly or Varcoe [just some examples folks,so relax ] withdrew.

I think that is the key. If we can dominate them in the first quarter (we have been slow starters this year) then it will take the crowd and emotion out of the contest. We really should be able to intimidate some of their younger, inexperienced types.
