Without wishing to sound like an amateur psychologist I think it's in our September interest to win this one and maintain the streak.
If this happens I reckon the pressure is a lot more on the Hawks to win a final/break the streak than it is on us to maintain the streak / win.
Reckon the self doubt will be there for the Hawks come September , particularly if they make the big dance against us - not only will the streak be in place , they will also have the 2012 capitulation on their minds.
Quite ironic that Kennetts comments about mental strength are true - he just got the wrong team ;)

i was thinking more that Buddy kicks the winning goal.....

Only to be invalidated by an interchange infraction as the players are running on to the ground with 1 sec left on the clock. Instant loss of possession and 50m to Geelong.

And if we are behind, Jimmy slots a barrel from 65...:D

GO Catters

How about this scenario? Geelong 3 points up, Buddy marks 55m out on the siren. Kicks what everyone thinks is a goal, but the field umpire is adamant Taylor touched the ball on the mark. They decide to go to a video review, which shows the middle finger on Taylor's right hand bending back as the ball passes. Goal is over-ruled, and the point stands, and Geelong win by 2 points. :D

That works for me.

no "probably" about it, Stokes is having a standout year. So much more impact as a mid than in a forward pocket having the ball dropped on top of his head as if he was 6'8".

I think this post is right. ATM their forward power is better than ours, but our mids a better. Having Monster back is critical in this game, we must have first use of the ball.
Out defence is better than Hawthorns.....we have conceded goals through stoppages, clearances and general one way midfield work this year. Looks as if Scott took the reins on this and tightened things up......Dawsons ruck influence is also prominent

The review takes place while Hawks in a Buddy Love fest on the ground not realising that they have lost

And I wake up and get the news in coronary care, but am advised against watching the replay for several weeks,No thanks I'll settle for giving them a good old 6 goal mauling.

I think, in the copy of the mission I read ( from library- so I can't check )
It had a sentence where Wojo went home exhausted and flopped down on the COACH...
??Not sure whether spell checker will get you out of that one
Unless its true. Maybe another side to Bombers' player management;)

Then maybe a few other middle fingers sticking straight up from the cats fans

That sounds quite painful.

Another version:

Buddy takes the same mark, the siren sounds, he runs in on his natural arc, umpire calls play on as the kick sails straight through the middle. Goal not allowed.

I like your thinking but would much prefer to him to run out on his 'buddy arc' only for the umpire to call play on. :D

This would be my favourite.

Imagine this.

20 seconds to go, Hawthorn are 2 pts up. Selwood kicks to JHunt who delivers the Sherrin deep inside 50. The ball is sailing through the air, and it looks almost certain to be a costly turnover as Lake puts his hands instinctively above his head to mark.

Out of nowhere, Christensen, Geelong's shortest listed player, looks behind him, weighs up his options, measures his space, and runs backwards as fast as he can. He springs off the floor, doing a backflip and landing his feet on the shoulders of Lake, plucking the ball from the air before Lake can get a glance at it. He takes the saving mark with 2 seconds to go and kicks the winning goal after the siren to put the Cats ahead by 4.

A better one.
Buddy takes a mark 55m out on the siren, goes back and kicks the goal reducing the Cats winning margin to 33 points.
I gave you a like originally Senator, but with drew it in hind site when I realized how pissed Lonners would be with that result after keeping him goalless all game.:D

What if the hawks are up by five points, mere seconds left on the clock, long bomb by, I dunno, Bartell sailing through at chest height where Lake is sprinting in to comfortably spoil it through but OH NO SELWOOD HAS DELIVERED A VICIOUS TRIP THAT NOT ONLY CAUSES LAKE TO FALL OVER BUT TO ALSO BADLY BREAK HIS LEG.

Geelong wins.
Hawks lose their only remaining KPD sized player.
Selwood delivered the blow through illegal means
Bigfooty error message lasts 3 weeks.

I originally gave you a like aswell YPO but withdrew it in hindsight due to spelling mistakes. :D

Dude!!! Are you SURE you follow the hawks?

Reckon we will win this game quite well and I like the idea of still having it over them. At the same time each wins takes a step closer to losing to them. So maybe we should get it over and done with, then regroup for finals.
Ah nope let's just continue the streak into 2014.
