Have a read mate, I said entertain.

Touchy some when its not all "how good is he" I'm just being realistic, he needs to lift significantly

Played reasonably well until injured, toughed it out for the team against top class opposition and you think we should entertain trading him... NFI...

Well done Hawks. You played incredibly well and deserved to win regardless of any perceived umpire help.

From a Pies perspective, I can't remember the last time I saw us make so many mistakes and just appear so deflated.

Forwards were good today they just did not get enough opportunities after quarter time. Steele was quiet, I understand he was tagging put he needs to do more, he has the ability. Sinclair does nothing, no more defending him please. He has had way more opportunities than he needs. Considering we have good clearance players like Thomas in the two's Sinclair is a waste of space. Swan has lost his edge a little, he was a bit wasteful today. Peddles also didn't do much with his touches. We are in Desperate need of a good small defender and a good tagger.

early in the season ladies and gents
plenty of quality to return.
they own us as geel own them.
when we get behind abit we're awful
Now we just need to start owning Geelong and the footy universe will be in equilibrium

I blame this on TheFreshBanana!
He wanted us to capitulate after Cloke's kick, and we did!!!!!
nooooo!

Gonna have to read the dictionary this week back to front as punishment

Our defensive pressure in first qtr was impressive. The second half however was a parody of defensive pressure, as if our aim was to create a highlights reel for buddy, cyril and co. That.and our inability to score is what hurts. Not losing, but the spineless manner of it- felt like belief dissipated. We will need to sort this out asap. If it had to happen id rather it occur now so we can learn from it.

We will emerge the stronger for this.

It puts our season in perspective for mine. Without being totally negative, I don't think we can expect a premiership if we aren't even close to beating the favourite. Plain and simple. We need to do our best but hope for the future.

Agreed. Hawks are a quality side. So well drilled, hard at it, and hungry.

We didn't work hard enough in the second half, a few players aren't up to playing against a side like that (Russell, Sinclair), we don't negate them at the stoppages, and we have a few players who don't have a defensive bone in their body.

I'm still confident we can go all the way this year; it's just one game. But come September I really want to see the likes of Beams, Ball and Maxwell in for Russell, Sinclair and Johnson if we are to compete.

Not happy we lost.

Don't blame the umpiring, we got the rub of the green last week, this week we didn't. Swings & roundabouts.
It wasn't the difference in the end anyway.

This has still been a fantastic 3 weeks for our club. We have been undermanned & had to fight hard for our first two wins.

The final margin is almost irrelevant. I thought we looked dead on our feet from the outset, was really pleased at half time. We got over run. Don't think the Hawks were at their best either.

Sam Dwyer:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Hawthorn are a bloody good side & they deserved the win.

Congrats Hawks.

Hey everyone, let's not eat our own. Hawks close to best 22, we were about 4 short of our best 22. They are a very good team and we need to not only be at our best but play at our best when next we meet. Only 3 games in, still a long way to go. I think Pendlebury played hurt, Shaw had several brain fades, and a number of decisions didn't go our way. However kudos to Cloke and whoever was on Mitchell.
