Okay so now that we have had our post-mortem meltdown over our upset loss to Fremantle we now have the unenviable task of turning our attention to the next match against the unbeaten Geelong.

I hadn't seen anyone else start this so I thought I'd get the ball rolling. I listened to the match on radio which isn't always the best way to gage what changes are to be made but based on what I heard and the Herald Sun match day centre you would think Clarke who was subbed out before half time will be in the firing line for being dropped. Mooney also depending on whether there is any further concern over his injury although he came back on which is a good sign.

It is going to be difficult as to who comes back in given our VFL side isn't playing this weekend but you would think Ball & Didak would be in line for a call up.

When Didak comes back in against Geelong and they smash us do you think people will finally shut up about him?

At this point what do we have to lose?

Bring him in I say,Kennedy was unseen all night except for that great goal in the third.Going to be a good player but roll the dice and bring the Dids back I say;)

Kennedy MUST play, get some games into the talented kid, i mean FFS what do we have to lose? id rather play him then Didak.

Ins - Ball, Goldsack
Outs - Clarke, Blair

Im prepared to give Josh Thomas ONE more week, his disposal is appalling, has to improve

We're starting to run out of excuses related to our injury list. Beams and Ball will be back soon. Additionally we have Johnson, Didak, Goldsack and Young to come into the side. Not convinced that Fasolo, Keefe and Marley Williams are in our best. Few teams ever get to full strength so it's pointless to rely on our theoretical 'best 22'.

Players who should be concerned about their place - Mooney, Elliot, Clarke.

We need to develop more junior players but even so Josh Thomas, Ben Kennedy, Paul Seedsman and Sam Dwyer are no certainties.

Do we have a number 1 ruckman at the moment? Yes we did okay with hit outs and clearances tonight but I was very unimpressed with Jolly's final quarter. Grundy and Witts are likely to get a good run in coming weeks

When our injured players return to fitness it will be interesting to see the composition of the team. But I'm sure we'll play considerably better

Im just sick of the midget brigade, this is going to be a sore point for me all week.

Look at the real gun sides, Hawks, Cats, Sydney, Ess.

All big bodies around the ground/middle.

Instead we have the mosquito fleet, and only one of them (Dwyer) has any footskills of note.

Blair, Dwyer, Thomas, Kennedy, Krakoeur, Elliot, Clarke, Sidebottom, Sinclair, Mooney.

far too many, especially when alot of above mentioned rotate through the midfield.

Compare to Geelongs "second string" midfield players

Kelly, Chapman, Corey, Enright, Smedts, Caddy, Mackie, Duncan.

BIG BODIES - WAKE UP COLLINGWOOD

We need to pour over the tapes and find the downhill skiers who give up when the going gets tough.

No tackles for thomas? WTF

1 tackle from Dywer?

Dywer needs to be told this isn't VFL anymore, you can't just save all your energy for the offensive side of your game, defense is just as important and he does NOTHING in that area.

It's going to be a long week, Cats by 50 odd for me. I think we are done, no hunger and full of arrogance. I don't give a **** if Ball and Beams didn't play, if we can't beat them with ought their best 4 players and a ruckman down early then we are crap. There has not been one game this year that I have watched and said well done, that was a good win. Even the Carlton one wasn't great.

In: MWilliams, Ball, Didak(
Out: Clarke, O'Brien, Blair

Bucks needs to quickly figure out the aim for the remainder of the season.

1). Push on for a top 4 birth when the odds now are very small of succeeding. I'd hate to see us revisit the mid to late stagnation years of the 1990s where Matthews and Shaw foolishly thought we were contenders instead of facing reality and rebuilding.
or
2). Recalibrate for 2014 by giving games to the future young guns of the club

(This is my second ever post and I don't get to watch the VFL from over here, so apologies in advance if I get it wrong):

In: Marley Williams, Jared Witts, Jackson Paine, Tyson Goldsack
Out: Marty Clarke, Jamie Elliot, Darren Jolly, Caolan Mooney

Elliot seems out of sorts, Clarke has not done a lot wrong but would rather see Williams / Glodsack, Witts isn't ready but Jolly is on his last legs, not sure about Mooney.

Why not try Dwyer in the back pocket , make him accountable , his decision making would be an asset down there . Also I've never liked Daisy in the backline , he's the spark they need up there , HFF/MID from now on .

This is the seasons turning point for us. We either fight for it and best Geelong or the season wilts away.

Massive game, I actually think we are a chance. Team needs unify big time though, I dunno go have a drinking session do something and bond. It looks like there are fractures and that's a recipe for failure.

This is the least confident I've been going into a match for quite some time sadly.

TBH it wouldn't bother me if Ball plays another week in the VFL, it's not like he's going to be the difference against Geelong.

I just think we have so few guys down back who can win a contest, and when it is spoiled down there, our midfield doesn't work hard enough to outnumber the opposition at the contest. We need to start going for marks in the backline, backing ourselves a LOT more than we currently are.

Tinkering with this side:

Williams, Brown, Shaw
Goldsack, Reid, Maxwell
Thomas, Pendles, O'Brien
Blair, Lynch, Sidebottom
Didak, Cloke, Swan
Jolly, Ball, MaCaffer (Selwood)

Seedsman, J Thomas, Martin
sub: Dwyer

Get some ball winners into the team and stop relying on small forwards. We have Kennedy, Krakouer and Elliot in the side as small forwards and they are simply not dangerous. At least with Martin and Ball you know we will have ball winners. With J Thomas, Daisy, Martin, Ball, Sidebottom in the side we would finally have a dangerous midfield/ball winning midfield and could actually rest Swan and Pendles up forward for large portions of the game with out lacking drive. I think one of the biggest problems we have is thinking we need quickness for defensive pressure in the forward line. It's not working and we have quick guys down there, reason being they are not smart. Beams and Sidebottom were not quick and yet they were two of our forward pressure specialist during 2010 and 2011.

I can't understand why Martin isn't getting promoted. Maybe he doesn't use it perfectly, but he kicks goals and finds the ball, play him in the forward line and let him find the ball, very few else can in our team at the minute. Time to bring in Marley as that shutdown small defender with pace. Caf gets the run with roles from the start of the game from now on.

I dred to think what damage motlop, stokes and christenson are going to do us.
More importantly i will find it interesting who the coach decides to play on them. Buckleys match ups at the start of last nights game was appalling. Gave freo a kick start and we were on the back foot from then on.

Yes, that will be the hardest task. Although even other sides such as essendon have struggled to keep them under control. Motlop had 28 possessions vs essendon.

I think thomas should go to motlop. I reckon if we can shut him down we will have a chance. They will not have taylor hunt, who probably would have gone to pendles. If kelly misses, I think we can bounce back. But this match is really a do or die. We have to atleast play well.

I cant wait to see how we go. Im interested to see the crowd numbers aswell to see if our supporters have given up. I reckon around 70K.

In; Fasolo, Goldsack, Williams, Ball
Out: Clarke (injured), Mooney (injured - sore knee), Elliott, Kennedy

Marley Williams must play, this is not negotiable, we need a small defender and he was close to BOG in the VFL last week, MUST PLAY.

Bring Alex in, he's in our best 22 and hopefully Goldy and Ball are ready to go also.

In : Didak, Ball, Goldsack (if fit), marley if goldy out
Out: Kennedy, clarke inj, mooney inj,

need a bit more experience around the ball.. Need didaks creativity he has had enough of a run in the magoos

We are really missing goldsacks versatility be it forward or back and also balls ball winning ability around the stoppages will be a huge inclusion..

Not sure how serious mooneys knee injury is.. looked to me like a knee on knee stinger.. so hopefully not too much damage but he will be sore during the week so may need a week to recover
