I think he’s actually a really poor decision maker but again maybe I don’t rate our own as much as everyone else
Poor decision maker? He’s got high footy iq and has good hands in traffic. His kicking can be a bit iffy at times but that’s only area I see that’s needs an improve in his skillset. Along side more accumulation

Hmmm think we just overate our own

Durham is serviceable

Durham looms as a very valuable balance player.

He doesn't really have weapons. He is hard working, tough and defends.

I don't think that gives him much in the way of trade value. The value of a player like Durham is often specific to systems, at least initially.

I can accept that clubs would likely baulk at being asked to pay more for Durham than Duursma.

But in reality Duursma is a mediocre attacking wingman. I fully expect the net positive impact to our team of Durham will exceed Duursma consistently and more than a majority of the time. I'd go as far as saying 75% of the time. Duursma will get all the credit, though, because his best games will be 3 goal, >20 possession games which are enabled by Durham and others.

I think Durham is someone who is going to stand up when the heat is on. We have too many guys that wilt in important moments - fall over, barely reach the points from 30m out, not take physical contact allow the opponent an easy ball etc. With his various strengths Durham is anti Essington.

Yep he’s the type of player is built for finals, we need more of them.

But Duursma hasn’t been playing as an attacking wingman, that’s why he’s looking to leave?

He’s currently playing the same role Durham does for us

And it’s not about each others trade value, the original post in question said we would have no need for Duursma because we have Durham

Phil Davis is too honest to make it in the AFL media landscape :D
Barrett trying to drive up some hype about Ginnivan but Phil bluntly says pick 35 is too high for him and he's more in the 45-50 range

Looks like dodo shat the bed on Massimo posturing, Hawks can walk him free on that rookie clause if we don't accept their pick, it's 66 or nothing, dosent even bump them off the preseason draft order either
We should do it and take the piss, offer 66 as the steak knives in the Duursma deal.

Phil taking the piss saying he’s in fhe 45-50 range. I’m not a fan of ginnivan but he’s a late 2nd. Davis might have the worst takes of anyone I’ve ever heard working in the afl media (former players wise)

Yeah, a pick that late is almost useless. Ginni has proved he can play decent AFL footy and he’s still bloody young
