I mean posting such ridiculous stuff like giving him a 1 week threat on its own is bad enough. But posting it 6 times in a day is next level. We get it, you want to give him 1 week, it’s never going to happen, regardless of how many times you post it.
posted it twice but carry on having a cry

Alastair Clarkson met Giants officials on Thursday, challenging popular opinion that he was on the verge of signing with North Melbourne.

Clarkson flew into Sydney without his manager James Henderson and is understood to have caught up with Giants chief executive David Matthews and head of football Jason McCartney.

It’s not known if a formal offer was made to the four-time premiership coach.

This is my own personal view in that I just don’t like the fact this WILL, not could but will drain out till the end of the month and the one thing that annoys me is that time has always been North’s worst enemy.
We never seem to be the shrewd operator who gets things done within the limitations handed to us and nearly always get left stranded at the altar. His Hawks payout, Amarfios position, the soft cap, these are things that need to be dealt with and so far nothing.

Sometimes it’s better to be chasing rather than sitting in pole position like we are at the moment.

All it means is that the likes of GWS, the AFL or some other entity can conjure up a plan to trump ours and we’ve seen it happen countless times before and then we’ve been had. Every day the sun rises gives some other campaigner an opportunity to f*** us.

The one bit of info that would be vital is not about whether Clarkson is confirmed, but how in depth are the discussions and have we moved onto finer details. I would love to hear news confirming an assistant coach or rival player moving which would provide more comfort than just “Clarko will be at North”.

But it is likely we will continue to wait so we can only hope the rumblings are in our favour.
I understand where your concern is coming from it's hard not to be informed by our failed attempts to land Kelly, Dusty, Gaff et al. The reason this is different, apart from Clarko being a coach and not a player, is we aren't trying to get him out of a club where he has established friendships or to move interstate. And despite us not being shrewd operators with the aforementioned failed trades that was a different administration and we are managing this shrewdly, in fact we have handled it perfectly.

The AFL for all its efforts in ensuring GWS is a success simply can't force Clarko to go somewhere he doesn't want to go, they might be able to parachute in a CEO or Head of Football but this is the greatest coach of the modern era we're talking about. Don't underestimate Clarko's ego he has said it himself whoever he coaches his aim is for the ultimate success that is the only thing that could possibly make him consider another club. However we are so far down the path with him it's all just the fine details now.

The reason we're in the box seat is because he wants to coach us not GWS.

In the last 2 days there has been a huge change in the media narrative, a direct result of our management of the situation and what we're feeding them. Every story talks positively about Clarko and the club. They know it's a fait accompli. Christ! Even Damian Barrett spoke positively about us for five minutes not one sly dig.

Rest assured, it's happening…

lmao.
Met them the third time and the day after the AFL says "no ambassador money!"

This time he meets them the day before the AFL says "ok, yeah ambassador money but as a side deal ;)"

Really gets the noggin joggin.

Yeah, I’m not sure how anybody saw the ambassador money story as a positive for us today.

here we go again GIF

Look. The dude wants to win. He will go to the club where he has the best chance of winning, and he's not stupid, he knows he will get more help from head office if he goes to GWS. Equally, he will have to move to Sydney, and to a club where players can't get out of fast enough. We are based in Victoria, where the majority of footballers are from. We train right near the city.

It's up to us, our club, to make a compelling case beyond all of that. I would like to believe, and really hope, that we are. Time will tell I suppose.

Don't give up.
