People scoffed but the Ziebull comments about setting an ultimatum might actually be on the money.

One thing this club has excelled at in the 13 years has been standing with roses in one hand and our dick in the other trying to woo "the one".

Buckley, Cook, Martin, Gaff, Kelly.

Excluding Cook there we were allowing our targets unlimited consideration time and counter-offering ourselves up and up while blocking ourselves from pursuing alternative paths when there was a natural time to cut and run.

I hope this is all smokescreen and the club really have him wrapt up because otherwise we could be costing ourselves critical time to investigate other candidates, appoint other positions and start re-signing some of our most important players. He's been a great coach but in a couple of weeks a 7/10 coach will be a lot better than no coach.

As tazaa said time is the enemy who has ****ed time and again the last decade.
Exactly not sure why people are so perplexed by the suggestion.

Its a simple we are all in on you but if you don't give us an answer in another week after having a month to decide then we need to start our interview process with chocco, yze, gia, leppa etc

If Sonja is 'comfortable' with the conversation they had in Hobart, that could be the reason Clarko went to Sydney. Perhaps to let them know he's leaning towards us?

If he's not keen, he's not keen. I reckon the meeting with his manager and Clarko going on his own tells us something.

Meh I'll just opt out.
Could definitely see him going to GWS as AFLs plastic lovechild always gets handouts.

If he's coming to North I'll believe it when he does a presser announcement.

Unfortunately the AFL have gotten involved and got there man to the GWS, club tried there best but you can’t beat the AFL when they want something.

Which is why we're now the Gold Coast Kangaroos.

Everybody just chill.

It seems very un-Clarkson like to go the GWS route.

If he does, then we have made the right call not to rush him to us.

North works one way and that way is being completely onboard with us. If Clarko isn't and needs convincing, we have to keep looking.

to be fair, they posted before with a picture of clarko in our colours

This one has given us two actual posts of info, that JHF will re-sign and that Heath Shaw will not. It’s not the benchmark of reliability and regularity the original FNF had.

Still don’t think it changes much. Sonja was quoted saying the next meeting will be about what he wants from us and whether it fits with what we want.

I see it as him moving into that stage of his own process, seeing what he’s going to be able to get around him at either club and will then probably move on to his decision. It’s never been done, anyone who thought so were kidding themselves.

We should absolutely be talking to others starting now, he has no issue with the giants speaking to other candidates so no reason why we can’t be doing the same.

Nup this ain’t happening. It’s been a complete waste of time

Should have known.

You’ve all missed the point on the supposed ambassador money - IT CANNOT BE OFFERRED AS PART OF CLARKOS SALARY OR CONTRACT. You sign him within the soft cap then APPLY TO THE AFL AFTER THAT to see if they approve the ambassador payment. This puts us at a huge advantage as we will have soft cap space to cover Clarko and whoever he wants to bring in - as for GWS if they asked about the ambassador payment last week and got rejected then clearly they are struggling with the soft cap and cannot afford Clarkson. It’s clearly advantage North.
