A boring bog standard recruitment process is being manufactured into a titilating true crime podcast where none of us have any clue who is the real victim.
If Clarko is still interested in both roles, I expect that we'll hear of him presenting to the NMFC board over the coming week. He's said right from the start that he needs to be the right fit for whichever club he chooses, so he will have to justify what he brings to the table (good and bad)

So we should never go for the best, we should just stick to little achievable targets and stay crap forever like St Kilda.

The difference is Clarkson is the best in the game and absolutely has us as one of his top options.

Would he have considered us two years ago? No.
Agree to shoot for the best but that’s slightly disingenuous. We are only being considered as we are the only Vic team looking for a coach. It’s clear you have a good relationship with the current board and president but to make out like they have transformed us into a club that can now shoot for the best is wrong in my opinion. If they get him great they can take the plaudits but if they don’t they should also realise the current on and off field situation at the club might have cost us.

Why would GWS brief it? Not saying they haven't, but I don't get why they do.
To show the level of detail they're getting to with him?

If I can turn it around, why would the Clarkson camp leak that little detail, of all the things they talked about?

Put it together with Ralphy's little drive-by about apparent concerns with our list, I thought it was a drop from GWS.

AFL web page this morning. GWS review. See attached.

GWS are no better or worse than NM. What would compel Clarkson to go live in Western Sydney when he would have the same challenge and more money staying at home in Melbourne.

If Clarkson does go elsewhere, Pike should not be considered. The Adelaide camp thing looks like it is going to blow up big time and what is being said about him, doesn't exactly excite.

Totally agree
Which leaves either Choco Williams or Dr Kevorkian, Lyon
I’m on the Williams team.

AFL have to be very very careful here.

They're asking clubs to support Tassie in principle and big clubs are wary of another expansion money pit.

GWS being seen as so wobbly to need direct AFL involvement and rigging isn't what they need right now.
Spot on.

Or someone like Yze or Kingsley with Williams as a mentor/development coach

It’s pretty naive to think that someone of the calibre of Tony Shepherd doesn’t have a succession plan from within his current Board.

Then they won't have any problems answering Clarko's questions, which again makes it odd that it was briefed out to the media post the meeting.

Didn’t Yze already say he isn’t interested.

This will end up Hinkley in my opinion, not happy with it but that’s where it’s heading

Several Vic clubs could sack their coach tomorrow and ring Clako only to be told to piss off.

I used to have bizarrely detailed negative, verging on catastrophist, fantasies too.

We won’t go untried again surely, I just don’t think there’s a cultural fit with Lyon, we won’t touch Pyke with this camp stuff, don’t think we’d get Williams (although I think that’d be ok) they’ll give Hinkley the arse. I don’t see other options

A wild thought just crossed my mind.
What happens to the orangutan if Clarko signs with GWS?
Ligma was going to post this everyday until he signs with us. Does that mean he then resides in this thread in perpetuity? These are the important questions that must be answered

Allegedly. Who knows whether he did or not. Anyway, the fact is, for over two years now, we have been the very definition of a basket case onfield. That’s not even up for the debate. The important bit is how we turn it around. I went to the ‘G last night and it really hit home to me what us North supporters have been missing out on for soooo long, it hurts.

You're drawing a lot of assumptions there mate.
