We won’t go untried again surely, I just don’t think there’s a cultural fit with Lyon, we won’t touch Pyke with this camp stuff, don’t think we’d get Williams (although I think that’d be ok) they’ll give Hinkley the arse. I don’t see other options

For me Plan B should be Leppa.

Hodge this morning thinks Clarko will take his time. The longer this drags out the less likely it is that North come out with his signature. If we was keen you'd think he'd want to have his crew on board ASAP to influence list management actively going into the draft and also he'd want to square away Goldy, Zurhaar and manage the risk of mass exodus of TT, JHF and Powelly. I trust North are pursuing other leads in the event Clarko isn't a goer.

I think there's something that seems to be transpiring.

Clarko is still talking with us and he hasn't agreed to terms is probably still fact. What may happen is we may act on the footy department recommendations by assembling a team that will help with the senior coaching appointment.

We are probably awaiting what Clarkson does because he'd want his team to come with him thus, we would've acted on some of those recommendations already if he does sign.

I would also say that I think not all recommendations would need to be actioned because some of them were probably already in progress and Walsh noted them down anyway to elaborate on how we can do it better. Additionally, covering every facet of the department regardless of whether its working or not is a good thing because we would have to have a clear picture of what we would expect our coaches and senior coach to work towards.

We have to watch the Pies last night and notice how they change things around really quickly. It won't be as strong a turnaround with us, but it's a story that continues to amaze the football world.

Our best footy can still trouble teams as we have seen. With a healthy list, this team is dangerous.

I hope Clarko notices how much potential he sees in us despite the review and other stuff. This is a seriously good football side under the right man.

...and that man is Clarko.

Keep in mind there are still just two vacancies. Not sure that changes.

No plan B

All in mate.

Worry about plan B if it comes to that some time later.

That's how it's done!
Yep I’m sure the music stops the lights come on and we are making out with a broom

TT, JHF and Powell are all contracted.

It would definitely help with Zurharr no doubt. Goldy has been unbelievable for our club, but I think it would be more beneficial for both parties if he moved to a club vying for a flag.

Kenny is a great coach. He develops positive relationships with his list. They've been near enough for a couple of years with a young list in a comp where you only have one winner.
Ross would be a Malthouse level disaster. The 2009 era Saints loved him but footy and young men and list management has changed. His commentary on MMM does him a disservice. In jokes and swipes and zero empathy for young players in the game with Carey et al who have had amazing 90s careers, undeniable superstar status, but not the skills to manage an under 9s team.
Clarko is a huge gamble. He is a tight wire.
IF ... Feffing if ... he was able to emotionally invest we might benefit from his top level nous and ability to attract players. BUT will he be able to invest? It won't be a walk in the park. This is the million dollar question. If only we could jag a McRae. I'm no fan of the Pies but McRae has them humming. Speaks so calmy and sensible and empathetically. Coach of the year for mind.
McRae merely has them back where they should be. Sure they had a horrible year in 21, but they won finals in 18, 19 and 20.

He’d want to do that equally at GWS. They’re facing their own exodus.

He’ll be sacked this yr

They’ve said they’ll stick with him through next year. Their back end of the season has been pretty good, they just started so poorly.

The main thing against us is our footy dept compared to gws.

Can we appease clarko that this will improve

I don't see the negative tbh, he can pretty much pick whomever he wants.
