I don't get it...only 19 posts in a thread about a coaching candidate? What the eff were y'all doin' back in 2004? Talk about lazy

And FF on here - who were the mods and why wasn't he carded? o_O

Probably because our supporters back then were still basking in the sun from the 97 and 98 flags.

So the Crows now find themselves devoid of a coach, at a time when their cross-town rivals are playing it out in a preliminary final against the Hawks. Looks like the tables have now turned, when Port were in an identical position back in 2012. Question is, will they now have what it takes to turn things around.

Identical position?

Nope. Your low was a 5 win season, losing to expansion teams and playing in front of 15,000 true supporters.

Our low is missing the finals by one game and playing in front of 47,000+.

Every team will have their ups and downs - the thing you should be thinking about is what happens to your 30,000 bandwagoners when your team goes back down.

by your reckoning, in two years we'll be back in a prelim and you'll be back to using tarps. swings and roundabouts.

oh and try and catch up in the meantime, you're still one flag behind.

You guys are playing in a PF?

Wow, i have only seen news about the AFC this week. Weird

Run along minnow

Buddy got a 10 year deal as a player.

Why shouldnt we table a 6 year or more offer to clarkson? Need to be bold in todays game, we know he is a good coach, so the players won't be able to blame their performance on the coach and have him sacked

You are in exactly the same position we were in 2012. Missing the GF by a kick.

Yeah, it's quite interesting that right now we are in the completely reverse position of 2012.

Hopefully we have a revival like you guys have had under Hinkley.... would be good having two SA teams being powerhouse teams in this league for the foreseeable future.

Umm yea I don't think we are in as bad of a position as Poort in 2012.

We just need a few key players and a good coach.

But if we could rise up the ladder like then that would be great.

If the rumours were true about potential targets - Clarko, Cameron and Davis inclusions I would be very certain we would be in the top 6 next year.

Actually any 2 of the above would almost guarantee us a top 8 berth. For starters, someone has to take Essendons place next year.

Interesting you think we can get a fantastic coach whose under contract and not known to be unhappy, but you call posters stupid for thinking we have a chance with Cameron, who's rumoured to want out.
